Justin Harris (Men's Basketball, Lasell College), Spencer Parker (Men's Volleyball, Lasell College) and Jacqueline Vienneau (Women's Basketball, Suffolk University) have been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Players of the Week.
Men's Basketball- Justin Harris, Lasell College, Freshman, New Orleans, L.A
Harris averaged 10 points and 5.5 rebounds over the course of the week for Lasell College. The highlight of Harris' week came when he made two free throws in the finals seconds of the game to take the victory against conference rival Saint Joseph's (ME). Also he added 12 points, tallied seven rebounds and distributed two assists in the intense match up. Earlier in the week, Harris scored eight points, grabbed four rebounds, and dished three assists in another conference game against Emerson. The 6'4'' guard from New Orleans has managed to have a ranking of 15th in the GNAC for assists with 2.5 per game and a total of 57.
Women's Basketball- Jacqueline Vienneau, Suffolk University, Freshman, Salem, N.H
Vienneau averaged 12.3 points on the week, including scoring 17 points with 6 assists in Thursday's non-conference victory over the Umass.-Boston Beacons. The 5'7'' guard also added 14 points in Saturday's 67-65 conference win over Emerson College to increase the Rams winning streak to seven of their last eight games. Currently, she is ranked 6th in the GNAC for her assist/turnover ratio of 1.0
Men's Volleyball- Spencer Parker, Lasell College, Freshman, Newington, Conn.
Spencer Parker had a huge week at the net in a 2-1 week for Lasell College; lifting the Lasers' GNAC statistics rankings to 2nd and 3rd in every category. Parker averaged 4.13 kills per set, also picking up 2.25 digs per set and .5 blocks per set over the course of the week. Parker began the week with nine kills, five digs, and two aces in two sets against Lesley University, then moved on to a five kill, four dig performance in two sets against Johnson & Wales. Parker finished the week with a huge match at Endicott College, leading all attackers with 19 kills, while hitting a .361 clip. With the two victories this week, Lasell is currently in 3rd place with a record of 4-1 and 9-4 overall.
