Suffolk Women's Soccer Earn NSCAA Silver Medal Team Award
Boston, Mass. - The Suffolk University Women's Soccer team
earned a Silver Medal Team Ethics Award by the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for the 2009 season.
Suffolk was one of 45 teams to claim the Silver Award, which is
given to teams that accumulate no red cards and a maximum of five
yellow cards.
A total of sixty-eight teams received either the Gold, Silver or
Bronze version of the Team Ethics Award, which recognizes teams
that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws
of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or
red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the
season.
The Rams were the lone team from the Great Northeast Athletic
Conference (GNAC) on this year's list.
Suffolk earned a gold medal by the NSCAA in 2008 for Team
Ethics/Sportsmanship.
Sophomore Leslie Hayden (Ross, Calif.) was named to the GNAC
All-Sportsmanship team in 2009 for the second consecutive season.
Hayden was also a first team All-Conference selection by the GNAC.
