PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katasha Jarvis, Regis (Mass.) (Sr. - Mt. Vernon, N.Y.)
Jarvis led Regis to an 8-1 GNAC victory over Albertus Magnus Saturday. After a hard-fought 8-6 victory at the number one doubles position, Jarvis swept through her opponent in third singles (6-0, 6-0). It was her 45th career singles victory, tying the Regis school record for most career singles wins. Jarvis is also moving up the school's all-time doubles win list, as she is currently third with 42 overall. Also, she has won 17 doubles matches with Ariana McCormack, one off the record for most career wins by a doubles team.
|ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Drew Bobey, Johnson & Wales (Fr. - Charleston, SC)
Bobey went 7-1 on the week as the Wildcats won all four matches against Springfield, Albertus Magnus, UMass Dartmouth, and Simmons. Bobey was 3-1 at No. 5 singles with the lone loss against Springfield and was perfect in doubles with partner Claire Parry.
WEEK 5 HONOR ROLL
Adele Duval, Eastern Nazarene (Sr. - Reading, Calif.) - Duval went 6-0 on the week, picking up three wins apiece at No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles.
Lauren Mogelnicki, Regis (Mass.) (Fr. - Wethersfield, Conn.) - Mogelnicki continues to play a significant role in Regis' success so far this season. She did not lose a game in either singles or doubles Saturday against Albertus Magnus. She improved to 5-1 in doubles with an 8-0 victory and was the first doubles set to finish. She was then the first singles player to complete her match with a straight-set win (6-0, 6-0), improving to 6-1 in her first collegiate season.
Ilda Ascic, Suffolk University (Fr. - Sarevo, Bosnia) - Helped Suffolk return to the win column with a 2-0 outing versus Lesley. Paired up with senior Delaney Dunlap for a top tandem win before cruising in the No. 2 singles slot to a 6-1, 6-1 decision.
Delany Dunlap, Suffolk University (Sr. - Hingham, Mass.) - Led Suffolk back to the win column with a 2-0 outing on both of the top courts versus Lesley.
