THREE-PEAT: NEC Storms Back On Day 2 And Claims Third GNAC Title In A Row
Hamden, Conn. - New England College came out on top once again with a three-peat as they claimed the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship at the New Haven Country Club in Camden, Conn. this afternoon after posting a 36-hole team score of 631 (+71). The Pilgrims have earned the league's automatic qualifier into the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Tournament, which will be held in the Spring of 2026.
Leading the way for the 2025 champions was senior Graham Hassan, who finished second overall with a two-day total of 149 (+9). Behind him finishing in fourth was freshman Emil Elias, who totaled a 155 (+15) to help lead NEC to victory.
Host Albertus Magnus collected a runner-up finish with 641 points (+81) as they were led by freshman Pierson Hester, who claimed third in this year's tournament with a 151 score (+11). Junior Nick Piselli earned a ninth-place finish for Albertus as well, scoring a 162 (+22).
Finishing in third was Emmanuel with 645 (+85), who were led by sixth-place finisher Ryan Brunet with 158 (+18) and Sean Fenton with 159 (+19) to earn a tie in the ninth slot.
Cooper Bertrand led the way for Norwich (649; +89) as he totaled a 147 (+7), leading all golfers and earning Medalist of the Meet honors. Freshman JD Mahoney placed fifth with a 157 (+17).
Saint Joseph's (Maine) finished fifth at 668, who were led by Jason Curran (+20; 160) as he finished eighth in the contest overall.
Dean, Elms, and Mitchell finished out the final three spots in that exact order.
