Player of the Week
Bill Whaley (Northfield, Vt.), Sophomore, P/1B, Norwich University
Whaley went 1-1 and pitched to a 0.71 ERA in 12.2 innings this week. The Northfield, Vermont native allowed 10 hits, seven walks and stuck out five. To round of the week, Whaley also batted .444 (8-for-18) with two doubles, two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored.
Pitcher of the Week
Nick Whittaker (Yarmouth, Maine), Senior, Pitcher, Saint Joseph's College (ME)
Whittaker allowed an unearned run off three hits while fanning a career-high 13 batters in a 6-1 victory over Anna Maria College on Sunday. The senior right-hander is on quite a roll, with no earned runs and just seven hits allowed and a whopping 27 strikeouts over his last 17 innings.
George Gouthier (Haverhill, Mass.), Freshman, INF, Rivier University
Gouthier had a tremendous week for the Raiders as he helped lead them to two wins, including a GNAC win over Norwich, this past week. The freshman from Haverhill, Mass was 7-for-12 (.583 average) with a RBI and three runs scored. The third baseman also registered a .688 on base percentage, .667 slugging percentage and used his speed to scamper home from second to score the game-winning run against Norwich.
