Saint Joseph's, Suffolk Earn GNAC Baseball Tournament First-Round Byes
Lasell and JWU will host do-or-die contests on Tuesday to determine which teams join SJC and Suffolk in the double-elimination portion of the tournament.

WINTHROP, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College of Maine and Suffolk University will be the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, respectively, as the 2017 GNAC Baseball Tournament gets underway next week. Both teams avoid Tuesday's first-round, do-or-die games and advance into the double-elimination portion of the bracket.

SJC and Suffolk will both host second-round games on Thursday, May 5. The remaining games of the four-team, double-elimination will take place at Holman Stadium in Nashua, N.H., hosted by Rivier University.
In the first round on Tuesday, third-seeded Lasell College will host sixth-seeded Albertus Magnus after sweeping the Falcons in a doubleheader on Sunday. Elsewhere, fourth-seeded Johnson & Wales University will welcome fifth-seeded Norwich University on Tuesday at 6:00 PM.
The Albertus/Lasell winner will be at Suffolk on Thursday (7:00 PM), while top seed SJC hosts the Norwich/JWU winner (3:30 PM) before the tournament shifts to Holman.
First Round - Tuesday, May 2 (single elimination)
Game 1: #6 Albertus Magnus at #3 Lasell - 7:00 PM (at Campanelli Stadium, Brockton, Mass.)
Game 2: #5 Norwich at #4 JWU - 6:00 PM
Second Round - Thursday, May 4 (double-elim begins)
Game 3: Game 1 winner at #2 Suffolk - 7:00 PM
Game 4: Game 2 winner at #1 Saint Joseph's of Maine - 3:30 PM
Semifinals - Saturday, May 6 (Hosted by Rivier at Holman Stadium)
Game 5: Game 3 loser vs. Game 4 loser (elim game)
Game 6: Game 3 winner vs Game 4 winner
Game 7: Game 5 winner vs. Game 6 loser (elim game)
Championship - Sunday, May 7 (Hosted by Rivier at Holman Stadium)
