Askew Becomes Albertus Magnus’ Second-Ever 2,000-Point Scorer
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (January 28, 2012) – Senior Ray Askew (Hamden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus men’s basketball team scored 31 points in Saturday’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest to become the program’s second-ever 2,000-point scorer.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (January 28, 2012) – Senior Ray Askew (Hamden, Conn.) of the Albertus Magnus men’s basketball team scored 31 points in Saturday’s Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest to become the program’s second-ever 2,000-point scorer.
With 2,004 career points, Askew is 230 points shy of Tim Russell ’05, who is the program’s all-time leading scorer with 2,234. The senior also becomes just the fourth player in the history of the GNAC to register over 2,000 career points.
Askew currently stands as the all-time leading rebounder in the GNAC as he has pulled down 1,079 career boards. He also holds the Albertus Magnus men’s basketball program record in rebounds as well.
