USJ's Tyree Mitchell registered a career-high 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-6 from three, for the No. 2 Blue Jays in a dominant performance against Westfield State.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Tyree Mitchell, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., G - East Hartford, Conn.) - Mitchell erupted for a career-high 28 points in just 25 minutes to power the nationally-ranked No. 2 Blue Jays to a comfortable 97-54 non-conference victory over Westfield State in their lone game of the week last Monday night. In helping USJ improve to 9-0 on the season, Mitchell was nearly perfect from the floor, connecting on 10-of-13 (76.9%) attempts from the field, including 5-of-6 (83.3%) from beyond the arc, and 3-of-3 from the FT line. The 28-point outburst marks the most points scored in a game by a USJ player so far this season. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Jonathan Box, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., G - Frisco, Texas) - Box scored a career-high 10 points in just 10 minutes of floor time to help power the nationally-ranked No. 2 Blue Jays to a 97-54 victory over Westfield State last Monday at home. In just his ninth collegiate contest, the rookie efficiently connected on 4-of-5 from the field, including connecting on both of his attempts from beyond the arc. He also dished out an assist on the evening. |
GNAC HONOR ROLL
Josh Zangerle, Johnson & Wales (RI) (So., G - Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) - Zangerle knocked down four triples on his way to a team-high 23 points to lead the Wildcats to a 60-53 road win at Connecticut College out of the NESCAC last week. Zangerle shot 41.2% (7-17 FG, 4-10 3PT, 5-5 FT) overall in 38 minutes of action and also collected six rebounds.
