GNAC Men's Basketball Report: Week 7

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Justice Washington, Albertus Magnus (Sr., C/F - Hamden, Conn.) - Washington was a force in Albertus' 91-85 home non-conference win over Nichols on Friday, Dec. 30. The senior center tied a career-high with 18 points and set a new career mark with 17 rebounds over 35 minutes against the Bison out of the CCC. Washington ws a near-perfect 9-of-10 from the floor to go along with two blocks on the way to his second double-double of the season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Antonio Bonilla, Albertus Magnus (Jr., G - Tenafly, N.J.) - Bonilla was on fire in the Falcons' home 91-85 win over Nichols on Friday, as the junior guard led all players with a season-high 24 points. The Tenafly, N.J., native went 8-for-14 (57.1%) from the field, 5-for-9 (55.6%) from behind the arc, and 3-for-4 (75.0%) at the free-throw line. Bonilla's five 3-pointers helped swing the game for Albertus, as his two treys to start the second half helped the Falcons secure a lead that they held on to for the rest of the game.

GNAC HONOR ROLL

Scott Lampron, Colby-Sawyer (Sr, G - Concord, N.H.) - Lampron finished out 2022 with a 25-point performance against Wheaton on Friday in an 89-81 setback. To go along with four rebounds and three assists, the senior was 9-of-15 from the floor, including 4 of-10 from three and a perfect 3-of-3 from the FT line. 

Ryan O'Neill, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Gr., G - Litchfield, Conn.) - O'Neill netted a game-high 21 points, including 14 in the second half, to go with six rebounds and two assists to help power undefeated (10-0) and the D3 top-ranked Blue Jays to another validating victory on the road over nationally-ranked No. 14 WPI on Friday, Dec. 30. O'Neill connected on 8-of-15 from the field, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, and went a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. 

Griffin Foley, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (GR, G - Portland, Maine) - Foley netted 15 points with three assists and two rebounds in the Monks' 75-52 victory over Southern Maine on Friday, Dec. 30. With a layup at the 11:31 mark of the first half, Foley became the 44th member of the Monks' 1,000-Point Club as SJC defeated its former longtime head coach Rob Sanicola.
