Izaiah Shaw-Glen, Rivier (Sr.)
Senior Izaiah Shaw-Glen had a dominant week all-around for the Raiders, averaging 31.5 ppg on 66.7% shooting, 9.0 reb/g, 2.5 blk/g, and 2.0 stl/g in a 2-0 GNAC week. Shaw-Glen opened the week with a career-best 33 points on 73.3% shooting, adding seven rebounds, three blocks and two steals in the 71-68 win over Mitchell before finishing with 30 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double over Lasell, mixing in two blocks and two assists. The senior is currently fifth in the conference in points per game (18.5) and second in total points (296) while leading in field goals made (119) and second in field goal percentage (56.4%), fourth in blocks (19), fifth in total rebounds (123) and eighth in rebounds per game (7.7).
Rookie Of The Week
Davis Mann, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)
Freshman Davis Mann scored 18 points in just 14 minutes in a 107-67 victory at New England College on Wednesday and added 16 points and five rebounds in an OT win at Norwich University on Saturday. For the week, he averaged 17.0 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 61.1% (11-18). from the floor, 60% (3-5) from three, and 90% (9-10) from the FT line in the two victories.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Ray Ford Jr., Albertus Magnus - Ford Jr. averaged 24 points in two conference victories on the week while shooting 51.5% from the field and collecting 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. He put up 23 points and eight boards on the road against Emmanuel before collecting 25 points, seven boards, and four steals in a home blowout over New England College.
Izayah Porter, Dean - Porter averaged 21.5 points per game on 55.2% from the floor with 3.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week for the Bulldogs, which was highlighted by a 34 point, seven steal output in a road blowout over Colby-Sawyer.
Abdul Mansaray, Mitchell - Mansaray delivered a highly productive two-game stretch in GNAC action for the Mitchell College men's basketball team, averaging 16.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game while shooting an efficient 57.7% (15-for-26) from the field. Mansaray scored a team-high 20 points in a competitive road contest at Rivier, playing all 40 minutes, then followed with 12 points and 11 rebounds to record a his third double-double of the season in a 65–46 win over Elms, Mitchell’s first conference victory of the season. His defensive presence was a difference-maker, totaling five blocks and four steals on the week, helping anchor the paint.
Michel Ndayishimiye, Norwich - Ndayishimiye turned in one of the most electrifying performances of the GNAC season, erupting for a career-high 31 points in an overtime thriller against defending conference champion Saint Joseph’s (Me.). The senior went 12-23 from the floor and 7-10 from three, sparking multiple late comebacks and forcing overtime with a buzzer-beating layup. He averaged 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists over the week while shooting 53.8% from long range and 83.3% from the free-throw line.
Remijo Wani, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Wani averaged 27.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 44.2% (19-43) from the floor and 59.1% (13-22) from three-point land in a 2-0 conference week for the Monks. The junior guard netted 28 points with five boards and three assists and was 7-for-10 from beyond the arc in a lopsided win at New England College on Wednesday and added 26 points with nine caroms while making 6-of-9 three-point bids in an OT victory at Norwich on Saturday. He became the 48th member of the SJC 1,000-Point Club in the win over NEC.
Roel Figueroa, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Averaged 11.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 GNAC week for the Blue Jays. Opened the week with 11 points and eight rebounds in a thrilling 68-64 victory at home over Lasell on Wednesday night (1/14) before capping the week off with 12 points and five rebounds in 22 minutes of floor time in a dominant 78-38 triumph at home versus Regis on Saturday afternoon (1/17). Overall, Figueroa shot 8-for-18 (44.4%) from the field across the two-game stretch.
