GNAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors: March 28, 2011

Chris Bulkley (Lasell), Jonathan Horgan (St. Joe’s), Kieran Kavanaugh (DWC), and Jimmy McAllister (Mount Ida) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jonathan Horgan, Saint Joseph's (ME), Jr., Hingham, MA

Monks’ junior standout, Jonathan Horgan, led St. Joe’s to a 2-1 week. Horgan scored seven goals and added 11 assists for 18 total points while registering a team-record eight assists in a win over Maine-Farmington on Wednesday.

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Chris Bulkley, Lasell, Sr., Groton, CT

Lasell’s senior, Chris Bulkley, led the Lasers this week with eight points. The midfielder collected five points in Lasell’s victory over Johnson State, including two goals, three assists and two ground balls in the contest. Against national powerhouse Keene State, he tallied one goal and two assists.  

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Kieran Kavanaugh, Daniel Webster, So., East Lyme, CT

Eagles’ rookie attacker, Kieran Kavanaugh tallied 11 points for Daniel Webster, helping the team to a 1-1 record on the week. The sophomore notched three goals and five assists in the 17-8 victory over Green Mountain, and added 2 goals and an assist in his collegiate debut against Regis College.

GOALIE OF THE WEEK

Jimmy McAllister, Mount Ida, Jr., Smithfield, RI

Mount Ida’s junior goalie, Jimmy McAllister had an impressive week for the Mustangs, accomplishing a .750 save percentage. McAllister made incredible saves from point blank range, while achieving a career-high 25 saves in a tough battle against Western Connecticut State. McAllister went on to make 17 saves on Tuesday against Babson College tallying a total of 42 saves for the week.
