BALTIMORE, Md. – Mount Ida College men's lacrosse coaches Andrew Fink and Anthony DiMaio were featured presenters at this year's US Lacrosse Convention, which took place late last month at the Baltimore Convention Center.
Fink and DiMaio presented the topic "Defense With Your Hands," a new talk that Fink, in his 12th season as head coach of the Mustangs, developed. The topic focuses on a way to play defense which limits penalties and injuries but allows the defender to stay aggressive and maintain an edge with their hands and sticks.
Their talk, in front of a room of 100 coaches from across the country from the youth to high school level, took place on Friday as the convention got underway.
Mount Ida was one of seven colleges to have coaches selected to present topics, and one of just three Division III schools represented, joining national powerhouses Salisbury and Stevenson.
This was the fifth time that the Mustangs have presented at a US Lacrosse Convention and the first time since 2012, after they were mainstays at the event for four consecutive years.
If you would like a copy of the presentation, "Defense with your Hands", e-mail Coach Fink at aefink@mountida.edu.
