GNAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 2
Norwich's Parker Campbell totaled 18 points in a 2-1 week for his second straight GNAC Player of the Week award.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Parker Campbell, Norwich (Sr., A - Rockaway, N.J.) - Campbell had seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points in a 2-1 week. Campbell started the week dishing out six assists against Mass. Maritime, before scoring three goals in the Cadets' lone loss of the week at Curry. Campbell closed out the week with a four-goal, seven-assist day against Southern Maine.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Nick Penta, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., GK - Andover, Mass.) - Penta made 31 saves in a 1-1 week while posting a .689 save percentage. Monday night against Eastern Nazarene, he stopped all 12 shots on goal to help Regis post its first shutout since 2011 and its third shutout in program history. Saturday in rainy and windy conditions against Salem State, he made 19 saves, just one save off his career high. Penta was challenged right away, making seven saves in the first quarter. Penta is tied for second in the GNAC in total saves with 51, third in save percentage at .622, and fourth in goals against average at 10.33 GAA.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Ryan Paltauf, St. Joseph (Conn.) (So., A - Southbury, Conn.) - Paltauf accumulated 14 points on five goals and nine assists to help the Blue Jays to a 1-1 record in non-conference road action against a pair of Little East opponents. He opened the week scoring a career-high five goals and added three assists for an eight-point outburst in the snow in a back-and-forth, 16-15, setback on Wednesday afternoon at intrastate foe Eastern Connecticut State. He followed that up with an impressive six-assist outing in a 14-9 triumph at Castleton on Friday.

HONOR ROLL
Derek Ralston, Albertus Magnus (Sr., M - Guilford, Conn.) - Ralston led the way for the Falcons with 12 points on six goals and six assists in a 1-1 week for AMC. He tallied a goal in Albertus' hard-fought 9-5 loss to Purchase on Thursday. The senior bounced back in a big way against Eastern Nazarene, as he poured in career-highs with 11 points, five goals, and six assists. Behind Ralston's incredible day, the Falcons tied a program record with a 26-4 victory over the Lions.
Greg Centeio, Dean (Jr, F - Fairhaven, Mass.) - Centeio led the Bulldogs to an 18-7 win against Mitchell in the lone game of last week. He posted game game-highs of six goals and three assists to help Dean to a 3-0 start to the 2022 season.
David Burke, Lasell (Senior, Midfielder - Cohasset, Mass.) - Burke recorded his first collegiate hat trick Tuesday at UMass Boston, contributing seven points in a two-game week.
Ryan Richardson, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., A - Corona, Calif.) - Richardson contributed to the Regis offensive attack in multiple ways over the past week. Monday night, he scored the first goal of the match 1:45 into the contest, plus he collected three assists to lead the Pride over Eastern Nazarene, 15-0. Saturday against Salem State, he broke through for the Pride with the team's first goal of the match, and then he scored three straight goals in the final three minutes of the third quarter to bring Regis within five of the Vikings heading into the final quarter. Richardson currently leads the team with seven goals, four assists, and 11 total points.
Michael Ference, Rivier (So., A - Salem, NH) - Ference was the facilitator for the Raiders offense last week. In the Castleton game, he dished out seven assists while scoring three goals of his own for a total of 10 points. He would add two more goals in the NVU-Lyndon game for a total of five goals on the week with seven assists for 12 points.
Michael Zapatka, Rivier (Fr., M) - Zapatka helped the Raiders to a 2-0 week, scoring a team high eight goals along with two assists. His best game came against NVU-Lyndon, where he put together a six-goal and two-assist performance in a 20-3 victory.
Max Lacy, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (2023, A - Salisbury, N.H.) - Lacy tallied four goals, an assist, and two ground balls in a hard-fought loss at the hands of Wentworth Institute on Wednesday.
