SWIMMER OF THE WEEK Kristian Adlianitski, Norwich (So.) Sophomore Kristian Adlianitski was perfect in all of his events this past weekend, first tallying a relay and solo win on Saturday (Nov. 16) against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.). He swam the final leg of the 400 medley relay against USJ, as the relay team came in first on 3:45.68. He immediately returned to the pool for the 1000 freestyle, logging a 17:47.55 effort to finish first. The next day against Saint Michael's (Nov. 17), Adlianitski swam the final leg for a pair of relay teams, first aiding the 200 medley relay team to a first-place showing on 1:38.22 before closing the day by helping the 200 freestyle relay team set a new pool record on 1:27.67. In between the relays, Adlianitski took to the pool for back-to-back events, taking first in the 50 freestyle (21.83) and 100 freestyle (47.01), the latter being a new pool record, breaking a nine-year old record set by a Colby College swimmer in 2015. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Drew Bylow, Norwich (Fr.) First-year Drew Bylow made history over this past weekend in outings against USJ and Saint Michael's. Against the Blue Jays on Saturday, Bylow earned two individual wins in the 100 butterfly (56.29) and 500 freestyle (5:06.84) while also kicking off the meet by swimming the first leg of the first-place 400 medley relay team that swam on a 3:45.68. The next day against Saint Michael's, Bylow was part of a pair of first-place relay teams in the 200 medley relay (1:38.22 overall) and 200 freestyle relay (1:27.67), the latter of which set a new pool record. In between those relay events, Bylow finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.12) before making history in the 200 backstroke, swimming a 1:57.24 and taking first in the event. His time shattered Joseph Clark's 2019 school record of 1:57.71, while also toppling a 2017 pool record of 2:00:00, set by a Colby College swimmer. |
