Ramapo Wins Fourth Straight GNAC Men's Tennis Championship
With a 6-3 win over JWU, Ramapo improved to 14-3 overall on the year earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

MAHWAH, N.J. - With a 6-3 win over Johnson & Wales, the Ramapo College men's tennis team won its 4th straight GNAC Championship today to improve to 14-3 overall on the year earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament.
Ramapo's Willen Feygin, tabbed the GNAC tournament most valuable player, won a key match-up at first singles over Andre Barbero, 6-2, 6-3, before Jeremy Rosen won second singles, 6-2, 4-4 (suspended due to decision) over Nicholas Auffret. Mike Abelev won third singles 6-4, 6-0 and Matt Goldstein won in the fourth spot over Jason Chavenson, 7-6, 6-0, a match-up that finished in time to be the deciding set.
Jorge Mancebo earned a point for Johnson & Wales at fifth singles when he defeated Adam Petrovics, 6-4, 6-3 and Ryan Shiele for Johnson & Wales wrapped up singles action with a win in the sixth spot, 6-2, 6-2 over Matt Talmage.
In doubles action, Feygin and Goldstein paired up in first doubles taking down the JWU pair, 8-1 and Rosen and Abelev posted a win at second doubles, 8-4. Johnson & Wales final point came at third singles where Mancebo and Shiele earned an 8-5 win over Petrovics and Talmage.
Ramapo awaits news on the NCAA bid, selections to be made Monday, May 9th. The tournament commences May 12th and May 13th.
