GNAC Men's Tennis Report: Week 6
For the third time this spring, Regis' Andrew Bienvenu has earned GNAC Player of the Week honors for the Pride.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Andrew Bienvenu, Regis (Gr. - Baton Rouge, La.) - Bienvenu extended his winning streaks in both singles and doubles to lead Regis to two victories in three days. Last Tuesday, he did not lose a single game in either singles (6-0, 6-0) or doubles (8-0), winning both matches in the number one position during Regis' 5-4 GNAC victory over Norwich. Thursday, he first teamed again with Lenny Tam to win in doubles, 8-1, and then he defeated Salve Regina's number one player in straight sets (6-2, 6-0) as the Pride took a 5-4 victory on the road. Bienvenu is now 14-0 in singles and 13-1 in doubles entering the final week of the regular season

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Patrick O'Neal, Norwich (So. - Indiana, Pa.) - O'Neal had an impressive week, registering a 2-0 record in singles and 2-0 record in doubles action. O'Neal won both of his matches at No. 4 singles, downing Regis' Lenny Tam 6-3, 6-1 in conference action, while shutting out NVU Lyndon's Garrick Wesbter 6-0, 6-0. O'Neal teamed with Isaac Chapman to take No. 3 doubles vs. Regis 8-3, he also teamed with Patrick Bulley to take No. 2 doubles vs. NVU Lyndon 8-3 as well. O'Neal is 4-2 in singles action this year and 5-2 in doubles. |
