2024 GNAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Award Winners Announced
WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its 2024 Men’s Outdoor Track & Field major award winners on Thursday morning.
The winners were recognized for their performance throughout the entire outdoor season, including the 2024 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The honorees were selected by a vote conducted by the league’s five outdoor track & field head coaches.
Colby-Sawyer’s Chase Adams and Regis’ Justin Thuotte took home two of the major awards as they were recognized as Track Athlete and Field Athlete of the Year, respectively. Meanwhile, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) Haytham Ramadan was recognized as the league’s top newcomer as Rookie of the Year. Ramadan’s Monks coaching staff was also recognized as Coaching Staff of the Year, while Lasell won the Institutional Sportsmanship award.
In addition to this year’s award winners, the medalists in each event at the 2024 GNAC Championships were recognized as All-Conference performers and one student-athlete from each team was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR Chase Adams, Colby-Sawyer Adams was the top hurdler in the GNAC this year, ranking first in the conference in both the 110m and 400m hurdles for Colby-Sawyer. He posted his best time in the 110m hurdles at the 2024 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 15.73, while his top time in the 400m hurdles was 54.43 earlier in the season. His 400m hurdles time placed him just outside of the top-50 on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Qualifying List. Adams took gold in both events at the GNAC Championships. In addition to his top 110m hurdles time, he also posted a 55.27 in the 400m hurdles. He was also a qualifier for the NEICAAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He was named GNAC Track Athlete of the Week in the weeks ending April 14 and April 21. |

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR Justin Thuotte, Regis Thuotte was an all-around performer for Regis this season and had conference-high marks in all the jumping disciplines. In the vertical jumps, he cleared 1.85m (6’0.75”) in the high jump and 3.94m (12’11”) in the pole vault. In the horizontal jumps, he had marks of 6.49m (21’3.5”) in the long jump and 13.39m (43’11.25”) in the triple jump. His triple jump mark was set at the GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships where he earned three gold medals. In addition to his triple jump mark, he cleared 3.80m (12’5.5”) in the pole vault and marked 6.32m (20’9”) in the long jump. He was also a bronze medalist in the high jump, clearing 1.77m (5’9.75”), while also scoring in the discus and javelin. He qualified for the New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the triple jump. |

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR Haytham Ramadan, Saint Joseph's (Maine) Ramadan was Saint Joseph’s (Maine) mid-distance leader as he posted league-best times in the 800m (1:58.91) and 1500m (4:10.68), while also producing the second-best GNAC time in the 5K at 16:35.99. All of his best times were set at the 2024 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships as he took gold in each event. He also the anchor of the Monks’ 4x800m relay team, which also took gold. He won two GNAC Rookie of the Week honors (weeks ending March 31 and April 14). |
