2025 GNAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Award Winners Announced
WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its 2025 Men’s Outdoor Track & Field major award winners on Wednesday afternoon.
The winners were recognized for their performance throughout the entire outdoor season, including the 2025 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The honorees were selected by a vote conducted by the league’s five outdoor track & field head coaches.
Saint Joseph's (Maine) Abdirizak Abukar and Isaac Keresey took home two of the major awards as they were recognized as Track Athlete and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Meanwhile, Emmanuel's Pierre Paul Labossiere was recognized as the league’s top Field Athlete of the Year. The Monks coaching staff was also recognized as Coaching Staff of the Year, while Emmanuel won the Institutional Sportsmanship award.
In addition to this year’s award winners, the medalists in each event at the 2025 GNAC Championships were recognized as All-Conference performers and one student-athlete from each team was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR Abdirizak Abukar, Saint Joseph's (Maine) Abdirizak Abukar was atop the leaderboards in two conference track events this outdoor season. The Lewiston, Maine Junior led the GNAC in the 100m (10.95) at the SNHU Spring Invitational as well as the 200m (21.81), which was set a couple of weeks ago at the New England DIII Outdoor Championships, and finished second in conference leaderboards in the 400m (48.99) at the Maine State Pine Tree Classic. Abukar was also the top performer at the 2025 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, scoring 25 points with five gold medals: 100m (11.17), 200m (22.43), 4x100m Relay (42.47), 4x400m Relay (3:24.94). Abukar was also named the Alan G. Hillman Memorial Track MVP of the Maine State Meet, becoming the first athlete in Saint Joseph's (Maine) history to earn that honor. He was named GNAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week three times during the season as well. |

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR Pierre Paul Labossiere, Emmanuel Pierre Paul Labossiere showed out for Emmanuel in field events this past spring. The Port-Au-Prince, Haiti Junior led the conference performance lists in the High Jump (1.85m), which was set at the GNAC Outdoor Championships and led the Triple Jump Event with a 13.69m mark, which was set at the Regis Spring Invite. Labossiere seen two other podium appearances at the conference championships in the Triple Jump (first) and the Long Jump (third). He was named GNAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week once this past season. |

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR Isaac Keresey, Saint Joseph's (Maine) Isaac Keresey posted a league-best mark in the Pole Vault (3.66m) at the GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships and finished second on leaderboards in the 1500m (4:18.78) at the Jim Sheehan Meet and the 400h (57.05) at the Maine State Pine Tree Classic. The Pittsfield, Maine native delivered an impressive and versatile performance at the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, earning All-Conference honors in five events and capturing three GNAC titles all as a first-year athlete. Keresey was named GNAC Outdoor Rookie of the Week three times this past spring. |
