Amanda Ryan (Rivier), Marissa Mercier (Rivier), and Monica White (Rivier) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Softball Weekly Honors.

Ryan was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts during the 2010 GNAC Softball Championship. Ryan went 4-for-7 during the tournament with 2 walks and a .571 batting average. She caught every game of the tournament and threw out the only runner that tried to steal a base on her. Rivier defeated Emerson, 1-0, in extra innings to win the 2010 GNAC crown. The Raiders also defeated Emerson in extra innings in the semifinals, 5-4, on April 24 in the double elimination tournament. Rivier defeated Simmons, 1-0, in extra innings in the quarterfinals on April 23. Ryan finished her season tied for 2nd on her team in homeruns (4), ranked 2nd in walks (12) chances (187), and putouts (174), and ranked 3rd on her team in batting average (.374) and slugging percentage (.571). The GNAC Champion Raiders will next play in the Division III NCAA Championship Tournament, which begins May 13 at Wellesley College.

Mercier played flawless defense at first base during the GNAC Tournament for the Raiders. She hit in the 3-4 hole for the week and was walked intentionally in extra innings. Rivier defeated Emerson, 1-0, in extra innings to win the 2010 GNAC crown. The Raiders also defeated Emerson in extra innings in the semifinals, 5-4, on April 24 in the double elimination tournament. Rivier defeated Simmons, 1-0, in extra innings in the quarterfinals on April 23. Mercier finished her freshman season ranked 1st on her team in walks (14), chances (214), and putouts (200), and tied for 2nd on her team in homeruns (4). The GNAC Champion Raiders will next play in the Division III NCAA Championship Tournament, which begins May 13 at Wellesley College.

White was named the GNAC Tournament MVP after earning three consecutive extra-inning wins. White gave up a total of 13 hits and 3 earned runs for a 0.88 ERA with no walks and 37 total strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .157 batting average during the GNAC tournament. Rivier defeated Emerson, 1-0, in extra innings to win the 2010 GNAC crown. The Raiders also defeated Emerson in extra innings in the semifinals, 5-4, on April 24 in the double elimination tournament. Rivier defeated Simmons, 1-0, in extra innings in the quarterfinals on April 23. White is currently ranked 1st in the GNAC in earned run average (.57), opposing batting average (.128), batters struck out (221), batters struck out while looking (42), wins (22), games finished (10), games in relief (11), and is tied for 1st in fielding percentage (1.000). White is also tied for 2nd in the GNAC in appearances (26) and earned runs allowed (11), is ranked 3rd in innings pitched (135.1), runs allowed (22), and walks allowed (8), is tied for 4th in home runs allowed (2), and is ranked 5th in sac bunts allowed (11) and triples (4). This is the 5th time this season that White has been named as a Pitcher of the Week. The GNAC Tournament MVP was previously honored on March 15, March 22, April 5 and April 12. The GNAC Champion Raiders will next play in the Division III NCAA Championship Tournament, which begins May 13 at Wellesley College.
