GNAC Softball Report: Week 4

Emmanuel's Olivia Conti posted a rididculous 1.776 OPS for the Saints last week, compiling, six runs, four doubles, two home runs, and five RBI across six games.

( FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 20 - 26 )

	PLAYER OF THE WEEK *Olivia Conti, Emmanuel (Mass.)* (Jr, SS - Cranston, R.I.) - Conti posted a slash line of .563/.588/1.188 for a 1.776 OPS across six games for EC last week, going 9-for-16 (.563) with six runs, four doubles, two homers and five RBI. She had a three-hit Game 2 with a double, home run and three RBI in a 7-6 win over Emerson as part of a Tuesday sweep, before going 2-for-3 with two runs scored in a 4-3 win at UMass Boston in Game Two of a doubleheader on Friday. She closed out the week by going 3-for-5 with a two doulbes and a home run in a Sunday doubleheader at Wentworth.
	PITCHER OF THE WEEK Alyssa Roberts, St. Joseph (Conn.) (So., P - Naugatuck, Conn.) - Roberts went a perfect 2-0 for the Blue Jays inside the circle in 4-0 week, posting a 0.50 ERA with 12 strikeouts (six walks) in 14.0 innings. She went the distance against Salem State, pitching a complete-game shutout, allowing only five hits while striking out seven in a 7-0 victory. The right-hander followed up her performance with another complete game against Bay Path, allowing one run on five hits with five strikeouts to pick up the victory in a 6-1 USJ win.
	ROOKIE OF THE WEEK *Kaitlyn Ouellette, St. Joseph (Conn.)* (Fr., P/OF - Wolcott, Conn.) - The rookie excelled both at the plate and inside the circle for USJ, helping lead the Blue Jays to a perfect 4-0 week. Pitching, she posted a complete-game win against Salem State, allowing three runs (two earned, 2.80 ERA) on six hits, while tallying eight strikeouts to just one walk. At the plate in that game, she paced the team with a 3-for-4 outing, notching a triple, a RBI and two runs scored in a 12-3 victory. Across the four games she slashed .417/.500/.667, recording five hits, one double, one triple, and three RBI against the Vikings and Bay Path.

HONOR ROLL
Ava Gladwin, Albertus Magnus (Sr., IF - Guilford, Conn.) - Gladwin recorded a stellar week as the senior infielder hit .421 with a .450 OBP and a . 421 slugging percentage as the Falcons went 3-3 in non-conference play. Gladwin went 8-for-19 with two RBIs, one walk, and four runs scored. She had two multi-hit games in Albertus' sweep over MCLA and split with Curry. She also tallied a season-high two RBIs in the 13-5 game two victory over MCLA>

Brianna Gendreau, Lasell (Graduate Student, SS/C - Warren, R.I.) - Recorded multiple hits in three games this week, and had seven hits for a batting average of .500 as the Lasers went 4-0 on the week. Had an RBI in every game this past week.

Eryn Sheeley, Lasell (Junior, P/1B - North Haven, Conn.) - Last year's GNAC Pitcher of the Week went 2-0 in the circle, pitching two complete games with 10+ strikeouts in each. She posted a 2.92 ERA on the week, logging 21 Ks to just two walks in 12.0 innings of work.

Colby Butterfield, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., P/1B - Gilford, N.H.) - Butterfield earned her first win of the season with a complete game victory over Clark on Friday night. She scattered eight hits while allowing just one run in the Pride victory. Butterfield struck out six Cougar batters, including back-to-back strikeouts with the bases loaded in the sixth inning and Regis ahead by just three runs. She threw 133 pitches in the game, including 83 strikes (62.4%).

Diana Petrarca, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., P/1B - Coventry, R.I.) - Petrarca played a significant role in both Regis victories Friday over Clark. She both batted and pitched in the first game of the doubleheader, earning the victory with a complete game in the circle. She battled to hold off the Cougars, throwing 128 pitches and retiring the final three batters to prevent Clark from coming any closer in a 10-8 win. At the plate, she went 3-for-5 in the first game, driving in the game-tying run and scoring the go-ahead run in the third inning to put the Pride on top for good. She went 2-for-4 in the second game of the doubleheader, driving in the first run of the game to again give Regis a lead it would not relinquish in the 4-1 win.

Jenna Masiello, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., INF - Cromwell, Conn.) - Paced USJ at the plate during a 4-0 week, slashing .750/.727/.875 across three games, recording six hits, one double, six RBI and two walks. IN a 12-3 win over Salem State, she was a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, tallying a double, two runs, two RBI and drew two walks. Was perfect against in game two against the Vikings, batting 3-for-3 with one run and two RBI. Closed out the week with a two RBI outing during a 6-1 win against Bay Path.

Olivia Howe, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Senior, IF - Arundel, Maine) - Howe hit .667 (4-6) with two runs, a double, a triple and two RBI in a pair of losses at Thomas on Friday. She posted a .750 OBP with a 1.167 SLG% in the Monks' first two games since returning from their spring trip on March 11.

Jordyn Rubin, Simmons (Junior, OF - Lewiston, Maine) - Rubin posted a .500 batting average (5-10) with a solid 1.243 OPS (.643 OBP, .600 SLG%) from the middle of the Sharks batting order over the course of the four game week. Going 2-for-3 against non-conference Framingham State to close out the week, Rubin extended her hitting streak to six games.
