PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison DeCota, Norwich (Jr.)
Junior Madison DeCota had an explosive week at the plate during Norwich's Florida trip slashing .524/.600/1.381 with a 1.981 OPS, with 8 of her 11 hits going for extra bases including 4 home runs and 9 RBI and 29 total bases. DeCota started her week strong with six RBI's in a doubleheader vs. Clark and Chatham on Monday, March 2nd. The junior went 2-for-3, going yard both times scoring all three runs for the Cadets before going 2-for-3 again with a double and a homer in a 11-0 victory over Chatham. She collected anther homer against Bluffton and later on followed with a 4-for-4 performance against Gordon, including two triples.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Piper Kinney, Simmons (Sr.)
Senior Piper Kinney totaled 25 strikes across four appearances (2-2), including a 12 strikeout one-hit performance in a 7-0 W over St. Vincent. Kinney also added another shutout win (7-0) against Bluffton with five strikeouts while allowing only one hit in a complete game. The senior was just as impressive on the plate, going 10-for-22 with four RBI's on a .455 batting average, which led the team on the week.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Charlii Carbajal Sanchez, Norwich (Fr.)
Freshman Charlii Carbajal Sanchez was one of the driving forces behind the Cadets in their Florida trip, slashing .409/.500/.500 with 3 stolen bases, 2 doubles, and 6 runs scored. Her week was highlighted by a 3-for-4 performance, including a double in a 4-2 win over St. Vincent.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Karla Carangelo, Albertus Magnus - Carangelo had five hits on Sunday over two games with two doubles, two RBI and two runs.
Amelia Ovalles, Albertus Magnus - Ovalles drove in three runs with two runs and three doubles in two games on Sunday.
Grace Garon, Emmanuel - Garon went 9-for-21 across a seven game slate for the Saints, averaging .429 at the plate. Her week was highlighted by a 2-for-4 performance for four RBI's against Bluffton, both of which hits were a double and a home run.
Makayla Halley, New England College - In 10 games and 25 at bats Makayla Halley had six runs and nine hits. One double and triple. Also recorded 4 RBI's. She had a .360 average plus a .429 on-base percentage while averaging a .480 slugging. Halley also had a .964 fielding percentage with 11 putouts and 16 assists.
Amanda Magro, New England College - Sophomore Amanda Magro made three appearances in the Pilgrims' opening week, earning two complete game victories in 18.2 innings of work. She had 25 strikeouts - good for a 9.38 K/9 - and a 3.37 ERA. Against a Messiah University team that won 35 games last season, Magro punched out 11 in a 2-1 win.
Nevaeh Eth, Simmons - Eth had two multi-hit appearnaces at the plate in her rookie week debut. Seven hits and 4 RBIs. Reached base in 6 out of the 8 games on the week.
Rachel Brewer-Karimi, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Karimi had paced the USJ offense during her first three games, posting a team-best .625 batting average, a .625 OBP, a .750 slugging percentage, five hits, two runs, one double and one RBI.
