SJC's Angelica Hurley averaged 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 steals while shooting 48.3% from the floor as the Monks had a 2-0 week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Angelica Hurley, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (2024, G/F - Groveland, Mass.) - Hurley averaged 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 5.5 steals while shooting 48.3% (14-29 FG, 9-16 3PT, 8-10 FT) from the floor as the Monks had a 2-0 week. The senior netted 22 points, five boards and six swipes in a 75-41 non-conference win at Thomas before registering 23 points, which included a 5-of-7 showing from three, 12 rebounds, four assists and five swipes in a 75-58 victory at Lasell. The Monks (7-3, 2-0 GNAC) will resume league play and its 2022-23 campaign on January 3 at home against Anna Maria. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Kayla Jackson, Elms (First Year, F - Saugus, Mass.) - Despite an 0-2 showing in GNAC play, Jackson averaged 17.0 points and 13.5 rebounds for the Blazers, shooting 45.2% (14-31 FG, 2-3 3PT, 4-8 FT) overall on the week. She impressed with 17 points (7-13 FG) and 14 boards (five offensive) in just 27 minutes versus USJ before posting 17 points and 13 rebounds (seven offensive) at GNAC powerhouse Emmanuel. |
GNAC HONOR ROLL
Jakara Murray-Leach, Albertus Magnus (So., G/F - Norwalk, Conn.) - The four-time reigning GNAC Player of the Week, Murray-Leach averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in a 2-0 road week for the Falcons. The sophomore shot 52.8% (14-26 FG) overall and averaged just 27.5 minutes per contest. She double-doubled (15 PTS, 10 REB) in a mere 21 minutes of action on the road against Dean before registering 19 points and nine boards at Norwich. Undefeated Albertus (7-0, 3-0 GNAC) will wrap up its first-semester action with non-conference tests against Springfield and Mitchell this week.
Caitlyn Scott, Albertus Magnus (Jr., G - White Plains, N.Y.) - Scott was an all-around contributor for the Falcons last week as the junior guard averaged 20.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.5 steals in a 2-0 week. She netted 19 points and pulled down four rebounds while dealing out two assists and forcing two steals in the Falcons' win over Dean. Scott closed out the week scoring a team-high 20 points and chipped in with three rebounds, five assists, and five steals in a triumph over Norwich.
Tori Andrewski, Dean (So, F - North Sutton, N.H.) - Andrewski posted her second and third double-doubles of the season to average 11.5 points and 12.0 rebounds this past week. The conference's leading rebounder shot an impressive 68.8% from the field. Andrewski began the week with 12 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to a solid Albertus Magnus squad. She followed with 11 points and a game best 12 rebounds in a tight loss to Johnson & Wales.
Olivia Matela, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Jr, G) - In a four-game week, Matela averaged 14.8 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 44.2% (23-52 FG, 12-30 3PT, 1-2 FT) overall. She registered 16+ points and three of the four contests, shooting a blistering 85.7% (6-7 FG, 3-3 3PT, 1-2 FT) in just 16 minutes during a blowout 84-39 win versus Elms.
Haley Brewster, Norwich (So, G - Virginia Beach, Va.) - Brewster averaged 15.0 points, 8.5 caroms, and 2.5 assists this past week for Norwich, opening up GNAC competition against Rivier with an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double, while maintaining clips of 45.5% (FGs) and 60.0% (3PTs). Brewster followed that up with 12 points in a hard-fought loss to undefeated Albertus Magnus, despite facing foul trouble. She also logged six boards and four assists against the Falcons.
Pam Gonzalez, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., G - Revere, Mass.) - The Pride senior averaged 15.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in a three-game week, including a 19-point, 10-board double-doulbe in a 59-47 GNAC road win over JWU. She also registered 11 points and seven steals in a home setback versus WPI, and went for 15 points and nine caroms in a loss to Framingham State, a team receiving votes in last week's WBCA Division III Coaches Poll. Entering the weekend, Gonzalez was 10th in Division III in steals per game.
Hannah Muchemore, Rivier (Jr., G - Nashua, NH) - Muchemore averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 steals in a 2-0 week for the Raiders. After securing 17 points and six boards in a 77-55 win over Norwich, she had 17 points, four caroms, four assists and three steals on the road at USJ.
Jordan Ouellette, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Jr., G/F - Bristol, Conn.) - Oullette averaged 15.0 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.3 steals in a 1-1 week, including a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double in a 59-45 victory on the road over Elms.
