Player Of The Week
Laura Johnson, Lasell (Sr.)
Senior forward Laura Johnson continued her dominance on the glass for the Lasers as the nation’s leading rebounder (19 a game) led Lasell to a 2-0 week, averaging 13.5 points, 20 rebounds, and three steals. Johnson started her week strong, showing activity on both ends of the floor in every minute of a 57-48 win over Farmingdale State with 14 points, 19 rebounds, and five steals. She followed with 13 points and 21 rebounds in 30 minutes en route to a 58-47 conference opening victory over New England College.
Rookie Of The Week
Nylah Mitchell, Emmanuel (Fr.)
Freshman forward Nylah Mitchell put up nearly a double-double in 12 minutes in the Saints’ conference-opening 79-53 victory over Colby-Sawyer, scoring 10 points on 4-for-8 from the floor and grabbing eight rebounds. Mitchell leads the conference in field goal percentage currently at 58.1%.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Lauren MacDonald, Colby-Sawyer - Had a great week for the Chargers in a split week. MacDonald not only showed up on offense, but defense as well. She averaged 2 blocks on the week, with two steals against Mt. Holyoke. Lauren would average 11 points across both games, with 6 rebounds a game, and 40% from deep on the week.
Geanna Bryant, Emmanuel - Put up 13 points in 14 minutes on a ultra-efficient 6-for-7 from the floor while collecting four steals in the Saints' conference opening victory over the Chargers.
Cassidy Kittredge, Norwich - Delivered an efficient and impactful performance in Norwich’s lone game of the week, pouring in a team-high 16 points on 8-of-14 shooting (57.1%) in just 25 minutes off the bench during a competitive 82-69 setback to Babson College on Wednesday. Kittredge added three rebounds, an assist, and a steal without committing a single turnover or foul.
Madi Zancan, Regis - Averaged 13.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over two games while shooting 45.8 percent from the field in a 1-1 week for the Pride. She scored 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting with 13 rebounds at Wellesley for her eighth double-double of the year. She then followed that up with nine points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and a block in the Pride's conference opening win.
Sydney Perry, Rivier - Averaged 21.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, while shooting 58.3% from the field. Averaged 33 minutes per contest, highlighted by a conference win with a 26 point and 12 rebound performance. Totaling 43 points, 22 rebounds on a 1-1 week.
Sequoia Turcotte Briggs, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Paced the USJ offense during a 1-2 week, averaging 16.3 points to go alongside 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.
