Player Of The Week
Madi Zancan, Regis (Sr.)
Regis Forward Madi Zancan delivered an impressive week for the Pride, averaging a double-double with 25.5 points and 11 rebounds, plus 10 steals across two games. She opened the week with a well-rounded performance, posting 19 points, eight rebounds, and five steals on 7-13 shooting in a 70-55 win over Anna Maria. In a tough loss to Salem State, the senior turned in a career-best outing, scoring 32 points (9-11 FG, 14-18 FT) while adding 14 rebounds - nine of them offensive - and five steals.
Rookie Of The Week
Gracie Laster, Norwich (Fr.)
Freshman forward Gracie Laster helped fuel Norwich’s offense in a strong 1-1 week, averaging 17.0 points and 4.5 rebounds off the bench while shooting an efficient 61.5% from the floor. She poured in a team-high 16 points in Friday’s narrow road loss at Plymouth State and opened the week with 18 points in just 15 minutes in a dominant win over Gordon. Laster also added three steals and four assists over the two-game stretch.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Tanner Drury, Colby-Sawyer - Provided strong minutes in a tightly contested game against Nichols College this past weekend. Tanner dropped a new career high, 25 points on 54% shooting from the field while knocking down 5 threes in the 9 point game. She led the comeback in the third quarter to make it a contest for the Chargers to have a chance in the fourth quarter.
Emily Leonard, Colby-Sawyer - Once again provided a spark off the bench for the Chargers against Nichols College over the weekend. Emily shot 50% from the field and 57% from three with four total threes. She dropped a new career high in points with 20 while also recording an assist and 6 rebounds.
Mary Turco, Elms - Averaged 16.5 points and 10 rebounds a game in a 1-1 week. Put up 18 points and eight rebounds against Salem State and notched a 15 point, 12 rebound double-double in a win over Fitchburg State.
Nylah Mitchell, Emmanuel - Averaged 15.5 points a game and 3.5 steals in a 1-1 week. Scored 21 points in nine minutes with four steals in win over Medgar Evers and followed with 10 points and three steals vs. RIT.
Laura Johnson, Lasell - Averaged 12.5 points and 16.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week. Collected two double-doubles on the week with 12 points and 16 rebounds over Eastern Connecticut State and followed with 13 points and 17 rebounds in a win over Worcester State while adding four steals.
Kiley O'Brien, Norwich - Continued her efficient start to the year with a two-game stretch averaging 14.5 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest. She shot a blistering 63.6% from the field (14-22), including a 1-2 mark from beyond the arc. O’Brien contributed 14 points in the Cadets' rout of Gordon and added 15 more in 19 minutes at Plymouth State.
Gianna Donato, Rivier - Averaged 24.0 ppg, 4.5 reb/g, 3.5 stl/g, and 2.0 ast/g this week. Scored 18 with two rebounds and three steals against Framingham St. Recorded a career-high 30 points with seven rebounds, three assists, and four steals in the overtime loss to Wheaton, Mass.
Madison Lebel, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Averaged 12.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals while shooting 56.3% (9-16) from the floor and 83.3% (5-6) from three-point land in a 1-1 week for the Monks. The senior forward tallied 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals with a 75% (3-4) success rate from beyond the arc in an 81-73 win over Maine Maritime on Wednesday and scored 14 points with 12 boards and two steals while going 2-for-2 from downtown in a setback at Husson on Saturday.
