Player Of The Week
Laura Johnson, Lasell (Sr.)
Senior guard Laura Johnson powered the Lasers to a perfect 2–0 week with a dominant pair of performances on the glass, averaging 11.5 points, 20.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals. Johnson tied the school record for most rebounds in a single game early in the week with 27 rebounds while scoring 13 points over Westfield State before collecting a 10 point, 14 rebound double-double in another win over Framingham State. Johnson’s continued dominance on the glass places her second in the country currently with a 18 rebounds per game average.
Rookie Of The Week
Nylah Mitchell, Emmanuel (Fr.)
Freshman guard Nylah Mitchell delivered an impressive two-game stretch off the bench for the Saints, averaging 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals while shooting a combined 57.7% from the field. She opened the week with a strong all-around performance in a win over MIT, posting 14 points, three rebounds, three steals, and two blocks while going 5-for-11 from the floor and 4-for-5 at the line. Mitchell followed it with a breakout effort, pouring in 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting and adding seven rebounds, five steals, in 30 minutes against Southern Maine.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Ariellys Velez, Albertus Magnus- Collected back-to-back 20 point games for the Falcons. Scored 20 against Springfield and followed with 21 points, six rebounds, and two steals against Babson.
Emily Leonard, Colby-Sawyer - Leonard had another big week for the Chargers in a 2-0 week. She would score a game high 19 points against VTSU Johnson with 4 rebounds as she shot 70%. She would go on to be a vital piece on the bench against Fitchburg as she dropped 9 points and 6 rebounds in a 12 point win.
Elyza Mitchell, Colby-Sawyer - Led the Chargers to a 2-0 week against VTSU Johnson and Fitchburg St where the Chargers would take home double digit wins. Mitchell would score 19 points against Johnson on 75% shooting and recorded five rebounds before getting her first double double of the season in a 14 point, 14 rebound effort against Fitchburg.
Mary Turco, Elms - Averaged 14 points and 13 rebounds a game in a 1-1 week. Put up 10 points and nine rebounds against Bard and notched a 18 point, 17 rebound double-double in a win over Gordon.
Jayden Estrada, New England College - Averaged 12.0 points per game this week while shooting 63.6 percent from the field and 60.0 percent from beyond-the-arc. The junior had 5.5 assists per game while also adding 2.0 steals and 2.0 rebounds per contest.
Madi Zancan, Regis - Led the Pride to a 1–1 week, averaging yet another double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She opened the week with a 15-point, 11-rebound effort that included three steals in a setback against UMass Boston, then followed it up with 19 points and 11 rebounds in the Pride’s home opener against Mount Holyoke on Saturday.
Hayden Madore, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Scored a career-high 18 points with two rebounds and a pair of steals in a loss at the University of New England on Wednesday.
