GNAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 1
SJC's Lydia Dexter (pictured) had 29 points in a 3-0 week while Colby-Sawyer's Heather Hanson had 21 points in a 2-0 week to take home GNAC Player and Rookie accolades, respectively.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Lydia Dexter, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (GR, A - Oakland, Maine) - Dexter is off to a terrific start this spring with 13 goals and 16 assists in the Monks' 3-0 start to the season. She tallied four goals and four helpers in a win over Maine Maritime on February 19th, enjoyed a career day with five goals and seven assists for 12 total points versus Thomas College on March 2nd, and led SJC to a lopsided win four goals and five assists at Husson on March 5th.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Sarah Burt, Anna Maria (So., G - Plymouth, Mass.) - Burt shutout Mitchell in 30 minutes in Anna Maria's opener, turning the Mariners away with seven saves. The following game, she tallied nine saves against the Mass Maritime Academy, posting a .593 save percentage for the week.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Heather Hanson, Colby-Sawyer (Fr, M - Marston Mills, Mass.) - Hanson has starred for the Chargers as the women's lacrosse program is off to the best start (3-0) since 2017. Hanson has and a team-high 10 assists for 21 points, to go with 15 ground balls and six caused turnovers. She had five goals and an assist in a 17-11 road win over Curry back on February 23 befpre contributing eight points (4 G, 4 A) in a 15-8 win at Lasell. On Saturday in a 15-12 win over Fitchburg State, she had two goals, five assists, seven ground balls, seven draw controls and three caused turnovers in the victory.

HONOR ROLL
Ashley Rufo, Anna Maria (Sr., M - Pittsfield, Mass.) - Rufo finished with five goals and eight ground balls in 1-1 opening stretch for the AMCATS.
Lauren Fletcher, Elms (First Year, A) - Fletcher had three shots on goal – all of which found the back of the net – to go with an assist for a four-point performance in a 17-2 road win at MCLA on Saturday for the Blazers.
Emma Walsh, Elms (Senior, GK) - Walsh made 10 saves in Saturday's 17-2 victory over MCLA.
Allison Sturgeon, Norwich (Sr., M - Monticello, Ind.) - Sturgeon scored three goals in Saturday's season opening win, scoring three goals and four assists for a total of seven points. Sturgeon also earned eight draw controls and a pair of ground balls. Sturgeon put 80 percent of her shots on net in the victory.
Jenna Banta, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., M - Montville, Conn.) - Banta had 12 goals in a 1-2 week.
Abby Stoller, Simmons (Grad Senior, A - Wayland, Mass.) - Through two games to open the season, Stoller registered 10 goals, 12 draw controls, eight ground balls and six caused turnovers to help Simmons to a 1-1 week. In their home opener against UMass Dartmouth, Stoller registered a career single-game high six goals – four in the first quarter – in a 19-8 win over the Corsairs. Addtionally, she also notched seven draw controls and four caused turnovers. At the end of the week against Salve Regina, Stoller added another four goals.
