GNAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 2
Simmons grad senior Abby Stoller put together a 17-point week (12 G, 5 A) to go with 10 ground balls and eight draw controls as the Sharks went 2-0.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Abby Stoller, Simmons (Grad Senior, A - Wayland, Mass.) - Currently the GNAC leader with 22 goals, Stoller registered 12 goals and five assists for 17 points to lead Simmons to a 2-0 week. In convincing wins over Salem State (March 7) and Manhattanville (March 10), Stoller tied her career single-game high finding the back of the net six times. Late in the week against Manhattanville, Stoller surpassed her previous single-game best registering eight points (6 goals, 2 assists). Against Salem State at the beginning of the week, she tallied a single-game high 10 grounds balls.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Emma Walsh, Elms (Senior, GK) - Walsh stopped 11 of 12 shots in the first half of a 14-3 victory over Rivier on Friday.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Isabella Beane, Regis (Mass.) (Fy., A - Marlborough, Mass.) - Beane totaled 11 goals and an assist for 12 points in a 1-1 week. Tuesday against Drew, she scored five goals, including the team's first four goals of the match, as she converted on every shot on goal she took. Saturday at Albertus Magnus, Beane finished with six goals, three in each half. All three of her second half goals came in the third quarter as the Pride established a 10-7 lead heading into the final period. She then assisted on the game-winning goal with 19 seconds remaining in regulation to give Regis its first victory of the season.

HONOR ROLL
Katherine Raposo, Albertus Magnus (Sr., A - Warwick, R.I.) - Raposo was outstanding in Albertus' first two games this season, tallying 14 points on 12 goals and two assists. In addition to her scoring, Raposo also tallied 10 ground balls, nine draw controls, and four caused turnovers. The senior who is playing her first collegiate lacrosse season, began her career with five goals in the Falcons' 11-4 road win over Purchase on Thursday to begin the 2022 season. Raposo topped her performance in the second game, recording nine points on seven goals and two assists in AMC's heartbreaking 12-11 loss to Regis (Mass.) on Saturday.
Elese Ciarcia, Elms (Senior, A) - Ciarcia had three goals and two assists for five points in a 14-3 victory over Rivier.
Chandra Franca, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr, - Woburn, Mass.) - Franca had five goals and two assists for seven points in a 15-1 victory over Anna Maria.
Madeleine Gould, Johnson and Wales (RI) (Fy., A - Oakdale, Conn.) - In her first full week of collegiate action, Gould totaled 13 points in 3 games for the Wildcats. She scored nine goals, with four coming in a conference tilt against Dean, while assisting on four other goals. Gould scored on nine of her 11 shots on goal and converted her one free position attempt, while grabbing one ground ball and causing on turnover.
Katie Sloan, Johnson and Wales (RI) (So., D - Ellicott City, Md.) - In 2-1 week, Sloan totaled nine goals and six assists for 15 points. Sloan put 13 of her 15 shots on net (86.7%), and converted three of her five free position attempts, while causing five turnovers on the defensive.
Teresa Kessner, Lasell (Sophomore, Attack - Brentwood, N.Y.) - Kessner tied personal records with four assists and five goals Wednesday against Salem State. She also compiled a career-high and game-leading 10 ground balls.
Sarah Lachance, Rivier (Fr., A - Chelmsford, Mass.) - LaChance has been the top performer so far this season for the Raiders. Teams have had a hard time keeping her off the stat sheet in the three games Rivier has played so far. This past week she had he best game, coming in a win against Thomas. Without her five goals and two assists, the Raiders don't get the 12-10 victory. She even scored against a tough Elms defence, scoring one of three goals in the contest.
Makenzie Dinger, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Jr., A/M - Hingham, Mass.) - Dinger scored a career-high eight goals to power the Blue Jays past intrastate opponent Mitchell College, 18-2, in USJ's lone game of the week. It marked the third-most goals scored in a single game in the history of the program.
Lydia Dexter, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (GR, A - Oakland, Maine) - Dexter netted five goals with two assists, five draw controls, and a pair of ground balls in a lopsided 20-2 victory over UMaine-Farmington last week.
