GNAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 8
Maire Brown of Dean finished with 11 goals and five assists to lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week.

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK Lydia Dexter, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Gr., A - Oakland, Maine) - Dexter tallied 13 goals and eight assists for 21 total points along with 12 ground balls, six draw controls and three caused turnovers to help the Monks remain undefeated in three conference games last week. With an assist early in the second quarter versus Albertus Magnus on Saturday, Dexter broke the GNAC's single-season points record (130, set by Lasell's Britney Wuorio in 2013) and now has 133 points (64 goals, 69 assists) in 16 games this spring.

CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK Maire Brown, Dean (Jr., A - Huntington, N.Y.) - Brown led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week with 16 points on 11 goals and five assists. She also added 17 draws and eight ground balls. Brown came away with the second most points in a game in program history with 10 in the team's 18-15 win at Regis on Tuesday night. She registered nine goals, an assist and a game best nine draw controls. Brown ended the week by helping Dean comeback from a 5-goal deficit to earn a 14-13 win over Rivier. She recorded six points on two goals and four assists to go with game-high totals of eight draw controls and seven ground balls. |

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Katie Bishop-Manning, Norwich (Sr., GK - New York, N.Y.) - Bishop-Manning backstopped the Cadets to a 2-1 week. Over the course of the week she made 46 saves while playing 180 minutes, allowing only 10.33 goals per contest. Bishop-Manning also had a save percentage of 59.7 percent. Bishop-Manning set the record for most saves in Norwich women's lacrosse history in a single season.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Heather Hanson, Colby-Sawyer (Fr., M - Marstons Mills, Mass.) - Hanson continues to put on a show in her first collegiate season. This week Hanson poured in nine goals and a pair of assists while securing 11 ground balls, nine draw controls and causing four turnovers. Hanson continues to lead the GNAC in ground balls and ranks fourth in all of DIII in ground balls per game.
