GNAC Women's Lacrosse Report: Week 5
JWU'S Taina Gamory had 11 goals and 14 assists for an impressive 25 points in a 3-0 week for the Wildcats.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Taina Gamory, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., M - Warwick, N.Y.) - Gamory collected 25 points on 11 goals and 14 assists in three JWU wins last week. She collected at least a hat trick in each game -- highlighted by a five-goal effort in a win at USJ on Wednesday -- and had nine points against both the Blue Jays and Regis. Gamory leads the GNAC with 30 assists and also sits third with 57 points. |

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Emma Glyman, Johnson & Wales (RI) (So., GK - Tolland, Conn.) - Glyman went 3-0 with a .667 save percentage for the Wildcats last week. She played 45 minutes in wins over USJ and Rivier, allowing just five goals on 18 shots, and closed the week with a 3.29 goals-against average. The reigning GNAC Goalkeeper of the Year is tied for the conference lead in wins with six.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ella Marschitz, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Fr, M - Naperville, Ill.) - The first-year had six goals and three assists for nine points in a 2-0 week. She talled three goals and one helper against Albertus before registering three goals and two assists against USJ. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Riley Cote, Anna Maria (Sr., A) - The senior had four goals and three assists for seven points in a two-game week.
Heather Hanson, Colby-Sawyer (So, M - Barnstable, Mass.) - The reigning GNAC Player of the Week registered 16 points, scoring 10 goals and adding six assists in a 2-1 week. Hanson produced nine points on March 29 in a GNAC win against Anna Maria, scoring five and helping out on four others. Last year's GNAC Rookie of the Year added 17 draws, 13 ground balls, and eight caused turnovers.
Anna-Elise Pikul, Elms (Senior, M - Belchertown, Mass.) - The senior had seven goals and an assist for eight points in a 1-1 week.
Megan Steele, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr, A/M - Auburn, Maine) - Steele had seven goals, three assists and four groundballs in a 2-0 week of GNAC play for the Saints, including a week-high six points on four goals and two helpers in a 22-8 win over USJ.
Madeline Conover, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., A/D - West Newbury, Mass.) - Conover led Regis offensively over the past week. Tuesday against UMass Dartmouth, she scored a career-high six goals. Saturday at Anna Maria, she scored five goals, going a perfect 3-for-3 on free position shots, plus she collected three groundballs as the Pride won, 12-10. She has two goals and one assist in the second quarter as Regis scored six straight goals to turn a 3-1 deficit into a 7-3 lead. Conover also scored a goal Sunday against Johnson & Wales. She now leads the Pride with 28 goals this season, tied for ninth in the GNAC.
Lydia Dexter, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Graduate, A - Oakland, Maine) - Dexter tallied nine goals and seven assists for 16 total points with seven ground balls, eight draw controls, and three caused turnovers in a pair of GNAC wins last week. In a 17-7 victory over Rivier University on Wednesday, she became just the second player in program history to score 300 career points.
Abby Stoller, Simmons (Grad Student, M - Wayland, Mass.) - Stoller guided Simmons to a 2-0 week, registering 11 goals and an assist for 12 points, while tallying eight draw controls, two ground balls and one caused turnover. Early in the week in a convincing, 21-5 victory over Colby-Sawyer, she notched four goals and an assist for five points. She closed out the week by registering seven goals for seven points with six draw controls in a 14-7 road win over GNAC foe Norwich.
