2025 GNAC Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams Announced
WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced its 2025 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams and major award winners on Tuesday afternoon. Norwich led the way with seven selections this year.
Voting was conducted by the league's 16 women's lacrosse head coaches following the regular season and did not take postseason play into account.
Johnson & Wales took home two of the major awards this season as Madeleine Gould (Attacker of the Year) and Emma Glyman (Goalkeeper of the Year) represented the Wildcats. Madeline Wright (Midfielder of the Year) represented the Saints as the lone recipeint while Colby-Sawyer's Hannah Himes (Defender of the Year) and Lasell's Alice Rourke (Rookie of the Year) represented their respective institutions. Norwich Head Coach Ian Thomas won Coach of the Year honors and Mitchell was the recipient of the Institutional Sportsmanship award.

ATTACKER OF THE YEAR Madeleine Gould, Johnson & Wales Madeleine Gould was one of the top two goal scorers in the conference as she put 73 goals on the season while collecting 28 assists for a league-leading 101 points. 45 of her goals and 68 of her points came in conference play, which her goals tied atop the league and points led the league in conference play. She ranked in the top-20 in DIII in goals (T-16th) and Points (T-20th). The Oakdale, Conn. Senior scored in all but one contest she appeared in this season as she scored four or more goals in 13 of her 18 appearances for the Wildcats with seven of them coming against Simmons early on in the season. Gould also put up five or more points in 12 contests for JWU and was named GNAC Player of the Week twice this season. |

MIDFIELDER OF THE YEAR Madeline Wright, Emmanuel Madeline Wright repeated as Midfielder of the Year as she was one of the top scorers in the league this season for Emmanuel as she put up a league-leading 74 goals, 45 in conference play, and 84 points, which was second-best in the conference (49 in GNAC Play). The Mattapoisett, Mass. Junior places in the top-15 (T-14th) in total goals on the season as Wright scored in all but one of her 20 games she appeared in. Wright scored three or more in 16 contests in which she collected a season-high seven in a GNAC win over Simmons earlier in the regular season. She was also named GNAC Player of the Week once. |

DEFENDER OF THE YEAR Hannah Himes, Colby-Sawyer Hannah Himes was the anchor for a Colby-Sawyer defense that was a top-five scoring defense in the conference throughout the season. Himes was a huge factor for a Colby-Sawyer defense that caused 316 turnovers, which was good for second in DIII and the conference. Her individual efforts defensively were the cause of Colby-Sawyer’s aggressiveness on defense. Despite battling an injury throughout the season, the Williston, Vt. Senior caused 48 turnovers, which was good for second in the GNAC, as 29 of those came in conference play (fourth in league). |

GOALKEEPER OF THE YEAR Emma Glyman, Johnson & Wales Emma Glyman stamped her career with her third Goalkeeper of the Year honors as an anchor behind JWU’s defensive line. Glyman went 13-5 for the Wildcats and posted a 52.4% save percentage, which was second in the GNAC and 11th in DIII and she led conference play at 57.6% The Tolland, Conn. senior didn’t stop there as she led the league in goals-against average with 7.17, which placed her 13th amongst DIII national leaderboards and her 4.82 average in conference play led the league as well. Glyman allowed seven or fewer goals in nine of her 18 appearances and reached double-digit save marks eight times this season. She received Goalkeeper of the Week honors three times this past season. |

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR Alice Rourke, Lasell Alice Rourke made a huge impact right away offensively for the Lasers this past season. The Norwich, Conn. first-year put up 46 goals, which she was the second-leading goal scorer for Lasell. Rourke put up eight games of three or more goals in her 15 appearances with her highest scoring game coming in a win over New England College in which Rourke put in six.She was named Rookie of the Week five times this past season. |

COACH OF THE YEAR Ian Thomas, Norwich Ian Thomas led the Cadets to a 15-3 season, which featured a 10-1 conference record and 6-1 GNAC North Divisional record, giving them the #2 seed in the North. Under his leadership, Norwich was amongst the top-five in several categories on both sides of the field. Norwich finihsed the conference third in both goals (242) and assists (113) with a 13.44 goals per game average and a 43.9% shooting percentage, all of which were second in the conference. Defensively, the Cadets were just as strong as they collected 430 ground balls, which ranked top-25 in DIII, first in caused turnovers (354) and per game (19.67) in which they led the nation and held opponents to a league-leading 7.11 goals-against average, which was good for 16th in the nation. |
