Player Of The Week
Ruby Cahill, Lasell (So.)
Sophomore Ruby Cahill was responsible for nine of the Lasers' 16 goals in a 16-6 win in their conference-opener over Simmons as she netted six on 75% and dished three helpers. Cahill also collected four ground balls in the contest for Lasell.
Goalkeeper Of The Week
Bailey Ingala, Norwich (Sr.)
Senior Bailey Ingala delivered a standout season-opening performance to backstop Norwich to an 8-5 non-conference road victory at Maine Maritime Academy, earning the win with 11 saves and a 68.8 save percentage across a full 60 minutes of action.
Rookie Of The Week
Grace Joly, Colby-Sawyer (Fr.)
Freshman Grace Joly would help the Chargers to a 12-5 win over Salve Regina where she would score her first collegiate hat trick. Grace would put three shots into the back of the net on six shots on goal. She would finish with a 75 shot on goal percentage and would add three draw controls and a ground ball to her stat line.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Marisa LaRocque, Elms - LaRocque collected 20 saves for Elms in her first game back after being sidelined with a major injury last season.
Joy Sayah, Lasell - Sayah collected nine saves in a win over Simmons.
Meadow Gilchrist, New England College - Gilchrist turned in a standout performance in the Pilgrims’ season opener against Gordon. Gilchrist totaled six points on four goals and two assists, as she netted her 100th career goal. The senior added one groundball, one caused turnover, and five draw controls to cap off a strong all-around performance in the 17-4 victory.
Tatum Villa, New England College - Villa delivered an impressive performance in her collegiate debut on Saturday as the Pilgrims picked up a 17-4 victory over Gordon. Villa recorded 10 saves over 60 minutes of play, allowing just four goals, collecting a save percentage of 71.4 percent. The Framingham, Massachusetts native also contributed three ground balls and one caused turnover in a strong all-around effort.
Vivian Buntin, Norwich - Buntin powered Norwich to an 8-5 season-opening victory at Maine Maritime Academy with a four-point performance, recording three goals and one assist in an efficient offensive outing. The sophomore attacker finished with a perfect 100.0 shooting percentage, converting all three of her shot attempts and placing each on goal.
Everett Garner, Simmons - Garner scored 4 of the Sharks' five goals and secured nine draws in a setback to Lasell.
Anna LeGault, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - LeGault led the Blue Jays with three goals, including the 100th of her career, and added an assist for a four-point game in a 14-9 non-conference setback at Albright on Saturday (2/28).
