Player Of The Week
Aleena Solano, Emmanuel (So.)
Sophomore forward Aleena Solano had a big week for the Saints, posting two goals and three assists in a 7-0 win over Elms (Sept. 13). She factored into five of the team’s seven goals while recording five shots, three on target. Solano currently leads the GNAC in points (13) and is part of a five-way tie for first in goals (5).
Goalkeeper Of The Week
Erika Horne, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (So.)
Sophomore goalkeeper Erika Horne recorded 10 saves in a 1-1 week for the Blue Jays. Against Trinity (Sept. 9), she came on with her team trailing 3-0 and stopped all five shots she faced over the final 35:22. Later in the week, Horne made her first collegiate start in a 6-0 win over Dean (Sept. 13), earning her first career shutout while adding another five saves.
Rookie Of The Week
Stacey Casorla, Albertus Magnus (Fr.)
Rookie forward Stacey Casorla helped lead the Falcons to a 2-0-1 week, finishing with two goals across the three games played. She netted her first goal of the week in a 6-0 win over Mitchell (Sept. 10) before adding the lone tally in a 1-1 draw with Norwich (Sept. 13). Casorla put five of her nine shots on target and now has three goals on the year.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Amy Stevens, Albertus Magnus - Helped the team to a 2-0-1 week with two 45:00 shutouts against Purchase (Sept. 8) and Mitchell (Sept. 10). Then she added four saves while allowing just one goal in a 1-1 draw with Norwich (Sept. 13). Currently leads the GNAC in goals against average (0.60) and is tied for first in save percentage (.824).
Tyler Stocking, Albertus Magnus - Found the back of the net three times this past week. Scored the game-winner in a 5-0 win over Purchase (Sept. 8) before adding two goals in a 6-0 victory against Mitchell (Sept. 10).
Elizabeth DaSilva, Lasell - Tallied 18 saves across two matches as the team went 1-1 on the week. She posted 12 saves in a 3-0 setback to the University of New England before earning a shutout with six saves in a 1-0 win over Regis.
Hollie Bomba, New England College - Made six saves in a 1-1 draw against Simmons 9Sept. 13), finishing with a .857 save percentage.
Abby Kirrane, Norwich - Made her first two collegiate starts and helped the team go 1-0-1 on the week. Had one save in a 2-1 win against Plymouth (Sept. 9) before tallying seven more in a 1-1 tie against Albertus Magnus (Sept. 13).
Leah Morrier, Rivier - Started both games for the Raiders as they went 1-1 on the week. Recorded two goals and an assist, including the game-winner, in a 4-0 victory over Mitchell (Sept. 13). Also registered nine shots, with six on target.
Julia Loughman, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Netted two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Dean (Sept. 13), including the game-winner. Added seven shots on the week, three of which were on target.
