Swimmer of the Week
Maddy McDonald (Westwood, Mass.), Freshman, Simmons College
McDonald scored 59 points for the Sharks and finished top-8 in two of her three individual events. She also led Simmons to four top-8 relay finishes (in the 200, 400 & 800 Free relays and the 400 Medley Relay), including a fifth place finish in the 400 Free Relay. McDonald's times were all lifetime bests and the freshman helped break two Simmons College records in the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Medley Relay.
Rookie Player of the Week
Lauren Rabideau (Ballston Spa, N.Y.), Freshman, Saint Joseph's College (ME)
Rabideau capped her rookie season with an outstanding performance in the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championship over the weekend. The freshman standout advanced to the finals in all three breaststroke events and proceeded to shatter the program records with new top times in the 50-Breast (31.97), 100-Breast (1:10.91) and 200-Breast (2:36.05) races. Rabideau earned a team-high 61 individual points and helped account for 141 of the Monks' 163 team points overall after swimming legs in the 200-Free, 400-Free, 200-Medley and 400-Medley relay races during the three-day event.
