SWIMMING & DIVING: Roger Williams Sweeps 2022 GNAC Championships in Wellesley
The Hawks women ran away in the team standings with 1247 points, while the RWU men bested runner-up Norwich by 111 points.

RWU Hawks sweep titles in
first-ever GNAC meet appearance
WELLESLEY, Mass. – Competing for the first time as a Great Northeast Athletic Conference associate member, Roger Williams University swept the 2022 GNAC Swimming & Diving Championship titles on Sunday afternoon at the Boston Sports Institute in Wellesley.
The RWU women totaled 1247 points to run away in the team standings, while the Hawks men totaled 521 points.
While eight women's GNAC top marks were broken over the course of the weekend, the meet also saw an amazing 21 men's records broken (or matched) – 19 of which were set by Roger Williams' student-athletes.
RWU junior Bodie Ibrahim and sophomore Riley Williams led the way individually amongst the men's field with 33 points apiece, with Williams hitting an NCAA Division III 'B' cut with his time of 3:58.79 in the 400 IM.
For the women, Roger Williams senior Ellie Field and freshman Noelle Schneider tied to lead the individual scoring with 72 points each, as Field also qualified for NCAAs with a 'B' cut in the 100 free (51.58). The young RWU squad also saw freshmen Maggie Carroll and Kate Wieler register 69 and 68 points, respectively.
Simmons University (654), which had won the past 16 GNAC team titles on the women's side, narrowly bested University of New England (650) by just four points for the runner-up position. Associate member UNE was competing in its first-ever GNAC meet. Norwich University (579) and Regis College (570) rounded out the top-five.
For the men, Norwich totaled 410 points to secure the runner-up position, while the University of Saint Joseph (CT) turned in a third-place finish with 158 points. For the complete team standings, please see below.
