Simmons College Tennis closes out the spring 2011 season after a defeat at the hands of New Paltz State in the NCAA Northeast Regional Tournament on Friday, May 13 at Amherst College. The Sharks gave up a 5-3 loss to the Hawks, exiting the tournament after the first round.

Simmons Tennis captured their third consecutive GNAC title on Sunday with a 5-2 win over Emerson College. The Championship, Simmons' sixth in the past seven years, gives the Sharks automatic entry into the 2011 NCAA tournament.
Katy Hallinan (Simmons College) and Lacey Russell (Emerson College) have both received the GNAC Women’s Tennis Weekly Honors.
Simmons College earned a #1 seed in the GNAC tournament with Emerson College taking the #2 spot to bypass the quarter final round.

Simmons College leads the 2010-2011 pre-season polls for womens tennis based on vote from all GNAC coaches. The Simmons Sharks were coming from a GNAC Womens Tennis Championship and also advancing to the second round before falling to the #1 seeded Amherst in the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
