Simmons Claims 2014 GNAC Women’s Tennis Regular-Season Title
With an unblemished 6-0 record in league play, Simmons has claimed the top seed seed in next week’s GNAC Women's Tennis Tournament.

GNAC Tournament kicks off Wednesday
before next weekend's neutral-site final four
WINTHROP, Mass. – With an unblemished 6-0 record in league play, Simmons College has claimed the 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Tennis regular-season title and will own the top seed in next week's GNAC Tournament.
Simmons, along with second-seeded Johnson & Wales University (4-1), will earn a first-round bye into next weekend's neutral-site Final Four, which will be played at the Winchester Indoor Tennis Center in Winchester, Mass.
In first-round action this Wednesday, October 22, third-seeded Suffolk University (4-2) will host sixth-seeded Mount Ida College (1-5) at 7:00 p.m. at Buckingham, Browne & Nichols, and fifth-seeded Anna Maria College (2-4) will travel to fourth-seeded University of Saint Joseph (3-3) at 3:00 p.m. That match will be played at the East Hartford Racquet Club in East Hartford, Conn.
In Saturday's semifinals in Winchester, top seed Simmons will take on the Anna Maria-Saint Joseph winner at 2:00 p.m., while Johnson & Wales draws the Mount Ida-Suffolk winner at approximately 4:30 p.m.

Johnson & Wales, which still has one regular-season contest remaining on Sunday, is locked into the No. 2 seed regardless of tomorrow's result.
