Amber Pendleton, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)
Freshman Amber Pendleton ran 1:03.88 for 5th in the 400m and helped the 3rd-place DMR (14:44.81) at Bates, then came back at Suffolk to run 2:30.38 in the 800m and anchor the school-record 4x400m relay (4:20.48). Her marks from this week put her 1st in the GNAC in both the 400m (1:03.05) and 800m (2:30.38), with the 800m also 26th in DIII New England, and the 4x400m relay ranks 1st in the GNAC and 18th in DIII New England.
Field Athlete Of The Week
Breya Whitman, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Jr.)
Junior Breya Whitman scored in the high jump at Bates with a 1.43m (4' 8.25") clearance, then produced the best field series of the weekend at Suffolk, clearing 1.55m (5' 1") for a school record and DIII NE provisional mark. Whitman was the highest DIII Athlete to score in a heavily filled DI field. Whitman added 9.21m (30' 2.75") in the triple jump. As of Jan. 18, she is first in the GNAC in the high jump (1.55m), ninth in the GNAC in the triple jump (9.21m), and her high-jump mark sits 23rd in DIII New England.
Rookie Of The Week
Olivea Miller, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr.)
At Bates, freshman Olivea Miller scored in the high jump with 1.43m (4' 8.25"), then at Suffolk she broke the school record in the 200m (27.22) and jumped 4.69m (15' 4.75") in the long jump. As of Jan. 18, those performances have her first in the GNAC in the 200m, fourth in the GNAC in the long jump, and fourth in the GNAC in the high jump.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Leah O'Neill, Colby-Sawyer - O'Neill had an impressive day at the Panther Invitational where she would get a personal best in the mile and finishing in second place overall. Leah would beat her previous best by 23 seconds, and put herself in second for the mile in the GNAC.
Teddy Pollack, Colby-Sawyer - Pollack had a personal best day at the Panther Invitational for the first meet back, with two major bests. Teddy would get a .30m improvement in the shot put where she would place ninth that places her third in the conference. She would finish the day with a .70m improvement in the weight throw with a sixth place finish and put herself first in the conference.
Olivia Costa, Emmanuel - Finished third in the 400 meters at the Suffolk Ice Breaker with a 1:03.94 time.
Zoe Kirk, Regis - Kirk set a personal best in the triple jump with a mark of 9.67 meters, the third-highest by a first-year in indoor program history.
Isatu Fofanah, Simmons - Fofanah climbed into the top-25 out of 79 runners in the 60m dash with a time of 8.31. Then, against DIII constituents, Fofanah registered the fifth best time.
