JWU Picked To Finish First In Women's Outdoor Track/Field Pre-Championship Poll
WINTHROP, Mass. – The 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place on Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 26-27 at Saint Joseph’s (Maine). The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with representatives from Colby-Sawyer, Emmanuel, Johnson & Wales (Women’s), Lasell, Regis, Saint Joseph's (Maine), and Simmons (Women’s) will be competing.
In preparation for the two-day championship event, the league's seven Women’s Indoor Track & Field head coaches conducted a Pre-Championship Poll last week in order of projected finish.
Coming in first with 46 points and four first-place votes are Johnson & Wales. The Wildcats will look to get their first GNAC Track/Field title this upcoming weekend while Emmanuel, who finished second in the pre-championship poll with 45 points (three first-place votes), will look to claim their first title since 2023. Saint Joseph's (Maine) comes in at three with 32 points while defending GNAC champion Regis was selected fourth with 29.
Colby-Sawyer received 23 points with a fifth-place projection, followed by Simmons (11) and Lasell (10) in that order to fill out the final two spots.
