Track Athlete Of The Week
Leah O'Neill, Colby-Sawyer (Sr.)
Senior Leah O'Neill competed at the Silfen Invitational in the Steeplechase where she broke an 11 year old school record in the event with a time of 12:12.28 and she qualified for DIII New England's with that result and put herself as the top seed in the performance list.
Field Athlete of the Week
Ella Labrie, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (So.)
Sophomore Ella Labrie turned in a strong all-around day in the jumps for Saint Joseph’s at the Monks Track & Field Invite, placing second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.49m (4' 10.5"), third in the long jump with a mark of 4.98m (16' 4.25"), and third in the triple jump at 10.45m (34' 3.5"). Labrie leads the conference in all three of these events after this weekends performances.
Rookie Of The Week
Zoe Kirk, Regis (Fr.)
Freshman Zoe Kirk led the way at the Regis Spring Classic with a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (DIII NE Auto Qualifier), crossing the line in 15.90 seconds, which leads the conference. She also posted a personal-best mark of 10.31 meters (second in leaderboards) in the triple jump to earn runner-up honors, while taking second in the high jump with a clearance of 1.46 meters - just 0.01 meters shy of her own program record.
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Lauren MacDonald, Colby-Sawyer - MacDonald had a great weekend, especially in the Discus where she would throw a now-conference leading 29.81m mark where she ended up with a fourth place overall finish.
Kendall Newton, Emmanuel - Newton delivered a strong distance double, winning the 5,000m in 19:31.62 (2nd in GNAC) and placing second in the 1,500m (5:10.43) while maintaining the conference’s top mark in the event.
Julianna Huckans, Lasell - Huckans finished 4th in the Pole Vault and 6th in the Long Jump at the Regis Spring Classic on Friday, jumping a GNAC lead 2.65m in the vault, and 4.66m in the Long Jump. She also finished 2nd in the Pole Vault at the Monks Invite on Saturday, jumping 2.45m.
Audrey Bilodeau, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Bilodeau produced a standout meet on the track, winning the 100-meter hurdles in a DIII New England qualifying time of 15.97 and taking first in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:10.13. She also ran on the Monks’ second-place 4x100-meter relay. Audrey sits No. 2 in both hurdle events for the GNAC after this weekend's performances.
Olivea Miller, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Miller had a big day across multiple events for Saint Joseph’s, finishing second in the 200 meters in 27.69, fourth in the high jump at 1.49m (4' 10.5"), and fourth in the long jump with a mark of 4.96m (16' 3.25"). Miller sits third in the GNAC for the 200m, tied for first in the High Jump, and is ranked 2nd in the Long Jump after this weekend's performance.
Talya Mendez-DeGraw, Simmons - Mendez-DeGraw Mendez-DeGraw secured a time of 13.10 in the 100m dash to take 21st place out of nearly 50 runners. Her 100m mark is the 3rd best in the GNAC and the best on the week. The relay team of Fofanah, Mendez-DeGraw, Dorman, and James improved their record for the second straight week in the 4x100m relay (51.41).
