Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Report - Week 6

Offensive Player of the Week
Melissa Manning (Milford, Conn.), Senior, Outside Hitter, Albertus Magnus College
Manning led the Falcons with 20 kills in there 1-1 week, including a 3-2 win over Mount Ida College. She registered 2.50 kills per set average while adding one assist and three service aces. She tallied 26 digs, a 3.25 digs per set average as well. Against Mount Ida she led her team with 14 kills and a .265 hitting percentage. She added 18 digs for her ninth double-double of the year.

Defensive Player of the Week
Giselle Cram (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico), Senior, Defensive Specialist, Johnson & Wales University
Cram helped the Wildcats to a third place finish at the Wildcat Fall classic with a 3-1 record over the weekend. She had 79 digs on the week with an average dig per set 4.65. Cram was nearly perfect in serve receive committing just four reception errors in all 17 sets played for the Wildcats.

Rookie of the Week
Kaitlyn Atkinson (Brookline, N.H.), Freshman, Middle Hitter, Emmanuel College
The rookie middle led the Saints to a 3-1 week, including an undefeated GNAC week, averaging 2.92 kills per set while hitting at a clip of .318 with 38 total kills in 85 swings. Atkinson also notched four solo block and one assisted block to lead EC, who are unbeaten in GNAC action. In the Saints only loss of the week, Atkinson slammed down ten kills and hit an incredible .474 in the non-conference effort vs. Keene State.
