WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Emmanuel Earns Top Seed In 2025 Postseason Tournament
WINTHROP, Mass. - After finishing undefeated in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play, the Emmanuel College Saints collected the regular-season title and earned the right to be the top seed in this year's postseason tournament. Emmanuel closed out its conference play in a 3-0 sweep over Norwich at home. The Saints went 13-0 in conference action and are currently 27-1, riding out a dominating 22 match win streak. They will host eight-seed New England College (6-7 GNAC) Tuesday night (Nov. 11) at 7 pm.
Back-to-back defending champion Lasell earned the two seed and will be on the hunt for a three-peat after finishing 12-1 in GNAC play. The Lasers will host seven seed Colby-Sawyer (7-6 conference) in Newton at 6 pm Tuesday night.
Saint Joseph's (Maine) earned the three seed after a 11-2 GNAC record and the Monks will go up against a battle-tested Simmons squad (8-5 GNAC), who look to make a run in postseason play. That match will be at 6 pm.
The final match-up will be #4 Rivier (10-3 GNAC) and #5 Regis (9-4 GNAC) as the two faced each other for hosting rights this afternoon with the Raiders sweeping the Pride. Rivier will play host at 7 pm
The GNAC Quarterfinals start on Tuesday (Nov. 11) with the eight teams going head-to-head. The winners will advance to play in the GNAC Semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 13 with the prevailing teams competing for the GNAC Championship on Saturday, Nov. 15. The winner of the GNAC Championship match will be named the 2025 GNAC Women's Volleyball Champion and earn the conference's automatic qualifier into the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.
