GNAC Cross Country Report: Week 4
Suffolk sophomore Matyas Csiki-Fejer (second place) and senior Emily Manfra (first place) took home their second weekly awards this season after dominating at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK Matyas Csiki-Fejer, Suffolk (So., Manchester, Mo.) In his first full five-mile race of 2019, Csiki-Fejer put together a time of 25:10.54, to to finish as the 257-field's runner-up at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, just under 30 seconds after Trinity's Weyessa McAllister. The sophomore paced Suffolk to a 15th-place team performance out of 36, the Rams' highest finish among its four GNAC counterparts in Dartmouth Saturday afternoon, and the best team showing at the annual event in recent history. |

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK Manfra was the fastest runner in pack of 263, which included Division II counterparts. The senior put together an impressive 5k time of 17:51.72 to claim individual champion honors. She helped pace Suffolk to a 12th-place team performance, which topped the four GNAC foes on the course, and was the highest finish for the Rams at the annual meet in recent history. |

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK In his collegiate debut, Glaude put together an 87th-place showing in the 8k at the UMass Dartmouth Inviational behind a time of 27:50.33 (5:34 mile pace). Not only was he the second finisher for Suffolk, but the second out of all GNAC runners on the course as the Rams, who finished 15th as a team, were joined by Emmanuel, Saint Joseph's (Maine), Regis and Johnson & Wales on the course in Dartmouth on Saturday as well. |

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Zoe Utton, Colby-Sawyer (Fr., Charlestown, N.H.) The first-year led Colby-Sawyer at Saturday's Bowdoin Invitational. Utton covered the 6k course in 23:47.90 (6:22 mile pace) to finish 12th overall out of 107 and was the top first-year runner in the standings. |
WEEK 4 HONOR ROLL
Liam Fleming, Colby-Sawyer (Sr, Orford, NH) - Fleming led the Colby-Sawyer men's cross country team at Saturday's Bowdoin Invitational. Fleming finished the 8k race in 13th out of 80 competitors with a time of 27:36.40.
Zach Curry, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Fy., Blackstone, Mass.) - Curry led all of Johnson & Wales runners at the 36-team UMass Dartmouth Invitational. Finishing the 5-mile race with a time of 29:30.54, Curry placed 161st of the 257-runner field.
Kaylan Dunham, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Jr., West Point, N.Y.) - Dunham led Johnson & Wales at the UMass Dartmouth 5K Invitational, posting a time of 21:58.78 to place 168 in the 263-runner field.
Adam Saucier, Norwich (Sr., Massena, N.Y.) - Norwich was led for the third straight race by senior Adam Saucier, who finished the 8k course in 28:12.1 at Middlebury College's Aldrich Invitational on Saturday. His finish helped the Cadet men claim fifth place.
Maggie Mann, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., Buzzards Bay, Mass.) - Maggie Mann posted a top-20 finish at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday. Her time of 19:08.30 broke the Regis school records for fastest five-kilometer cross country time as well as fastest time by a senior by a second. Her performance helped the Pride finish in 18th place out of 37 teams.
JJ Pedersen, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., Milford, Conn.) - JJ Pedersen was once again the top finisher for Regis, crossing the finish line in 77th place at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday. He posted a time of 27:42.3 over the five-mile course.
Samantha Molinari, Rivier (Junior, Litchfield, N.H.) - Molinari made her Raider debut in grand fashion becoming the first Rivier Women's Cross Country runner to win the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College. She finished the 48th annual 6k event with a time of 24:27 and averaged 4:05 per kilometer (6:33 mile).
Troy Hendricks, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sophomore, Hiram, Maine) - Hendricks led Saint Joseph's with a 26:47 performance and placed 49th overall in the UMass.-Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday. He is the first SJC runner to post a sub-27 minute time in an 8K event since the 2008 season.
David Kavanaugh, Saint Joseph (CT) (Freshman, West Hartford,) - Kavanaugh finished sixth of 53 runners in the men's 8K at the Blazer Classic Invitational. Only Division II school American International College (AIC) finished ahead of him, with AIC taking the first five spots, and eight of the first nine. He finished with a time of 29:46.4 (5:59 Mile Pace), 45 seconds off the lead. He was the fourth highest finishing freshman of the event.
Marin Stamer, Suffolk (Fr., Big Bear City, Calif.) - Marin Stamer, who finished second for Rams runners on the course, claimed 64th in the field of 263. She finished her first collegiate 5k in 20:08.40 to be the fastest GNAC rookie at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational Saturday, outrunning the rookies of her conference competition in Regis, Saint Joseph's (Maine), Emmauel and Lasell.
