GNAC Cross Country Report: Week 4
SJC's Troy Hendricks won his second weekly honor of the season, while Regis' Ashleigh Kelley took home her third weekly award after finishing first at the Elms Blazers Classic 6K race.

MEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK Troy Hendricks, Saint Joseph's of Maine (Senior, Hiram, Maine) - Hendricks paced the Monks and finished 10th overall with a 28:14 time in the Bowdoin College Invitational 8K on Saturday. |

WOMEN'S RUNNER OF THE WEEK Ashleigh Kelley, Regis (Sr., Stoneham, Mass.) - Kelley won the women's six-kilometer race at Saturday's Elms College Blazer Classic. She finished 29 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor with a final time of 23:45, over a minute faster than her previous six-kilometer collegiate best time and one of the top six-kilometer times in program history. It is her first career individual victory in cross country and helped the Pride to a second place team finish, behind a 6:22 mile pace. |

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Patrick Hill, Emmanuel (Fy., Barrington, N.H.) - Hill was the top EC finisher at the Bowdoin Invitational, placing 11th overall with a time of 28:26, good for 5:43 mile splits in the 8K race to help the Saints post a fifth place team finish. |

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Aly Richard, Lasell (Fr., New Hartford, Conn.) - Richard was the top Laser finisher and the top GNAC freshman finisher on Saturday at the Elms College Blazer Classic at Chicopee Memorial State Park. She placed seventh overall among 48 runners, completing the 6K course in 27 minutes, 27 seconds. There were six GNAC schools competing in the race (Simmons, Regis, Lasell, Elms, USJ and Dean). |
HONOR ROLL
Elizabeth Cameron, Emmanuel (Jr., Raynham, Mass.) - Cameron put forth a PR race for the Saints at the Bowdoin Invitational, finishing sixth overall in the field with a time of 25:35 in the 5K race. The junior was the first finisher in the race not on the host Polar Bears squad and recorded mile splits of 6:51 on the day for a new PR.
Benjamin Happenny, Regis (Fy., Woonsocket, R.I.) - For the third time in as many races, Happenny led the Regis contingent, this time at Elms College's Blazer Classic. He finished fourth with an eight-kilometer time of 29:50, averaging just over six minutes per mile. It was his first collegiate eight-kilometer event. He finished just 14 seconds behind the second place finisher and only eight seconds behind third place.
Samantha Molinari, Rivier (Sr., Litchfield, NH) - Molinari finished in first place this past week at Mass Maritime's Travis J. Fuller Invitational with a time of 19:59, good for a 6:26 mile pace.
Braeden Laframboise, Saint Joseph (CT) (Fr., Southington, Conn.) - Laframboise won the Elms College Blazer Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning in Chicopee, Mass. crossing the 8K finish line in 28:52.0 for his first career victory in just his third collegiate meet. It marked the first-ever time Laframboise had competed in an 8K meet and the freshman standout impressed by breaking the tape :43.8 ahead of the second-place runner while averaging a 5:48.4 mile pace.
Kelsey Kennedy, Saint Joseph's of Maine (Junior, Cape Elizabeth, Maine) - Kennedy finished 21st with a 26:53 time in the Bowdoin Invitational 6K on Saturday.
Alice Najimy, Simmons (Sr., Pittsfield, Mass.) - Najimy guided the Sharks to a first-place team victory at the Elms College Blazer Invitational on Saturday morning. The western Mass. native placed second overall, posting a time of 24:14 - a 6:30 minute mile time. She was one of three Sharks to finish in the top seven.
