GNAC Men's Soccer Report: Week 3
USJ's DeAnte Anderson remains amongst the top goal scorers in the nation after a four-goal performance in a GNAC win over Dean last week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK DeAnte Anderson, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., F - Bloomfield, Conn.) - Anderson continued his hot start to season, scoring all four goals for the Blue Jays in a 1-0-1 week, with all coming against Dean after USJ played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw on Wednesday in non-conference action at UMass Dartmouth. Anderson has now scored the last nine goals for the Blue Jays dating back to September 7 after he netted five against cross-town rival Trinity. He leads the GNAC in goals (11) and points (22) and was second in the nation in goals scored prior to his four-goal outburst on Saturday against the Bulldogs.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK David Walbridge, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (GR, GK - Hampden, Mass.) - Walbridge was instrumental in the Monks' 1-0-1 week, posting a 0.45 GAA with an .875 save percentage. The graduate student made one save and stuffed multiple scoring opportunities in the box in a 1-1 tie with #8 WPI on Tuesday and posted six saves in a huge conference 1-0 win at Norwich on Saturday.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Arian Bobi, Albertus Magnus (Fr., M - Amity, Conn.) - In his first collegiate appearance, Bobi notched his first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, earning two points in the Falcons' 1-0 GNAC victory over Elms. The rookie midfielder followed up by tallying a point behind an assist in the 3-1 win over Colby-Sawyer.

Arian Bobi, Albertus Magnus (Fr., M - Amity, Conn.) - In his first collegiate appearance, Bobi notched his first career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, earning two points in the Falcons' 1-0 GNAC victory over Elms. The rookie midfielder followed up by tallying a point behind an assist in the 3-1 win over Colby-Sawyer.
Garfield Robinson, Albertus Magnus (Jr., GK - West Haven, Conn.) - Robinson helped lead the Falcons to an unbeaten GNAC week (2-0) after stopping 10 of 11 shots for a .909 save percentage. The junior keeper opened the week earning his third shutout of the season behind a six-save performance in the Falcons' 1-0 win against Elms. The lone goal he surrendered on the week came on Saturday in the 13th minute of play in an eventual 3-1 win at Colby-Sawyer. He followed that up with 78 straight minutes of flawless netminding.
Nick Lawrence, Anna Maria (Gr., M - North Attleboro, Mass.) - Lawrence scored two goals in Anna Maria's narrow loss at Emmanuel on Saturday.
Ethan Skinner, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr, D - Guilford, Conn.) - The senior captain played a huge part in a 2-0 week in GNAC play for Emmanuel, collecting four points on one goal and two assists over the two wins. The centerback notched a pair of assists in the Saints 4-1 win over Elms including a dime on the game-winner and then scored the game-winning goal in EC's 3-2 comeback win over Anna Maria. The Saints trailed 2-0 at the break and Skinner helped the Saints keep the AMCats off the board in the second stanza and netted the game-winner to complete the comeback and help Emmanuel improve to a 5-1 record for the best start in program history.
Joey Soucy, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Fr, F - Attleboro, Mass.) - Soucy helped Emmanuel post a 2-0 record in GNAC play with contributions in both victories. The first year found the back of the net in the Saints 4-1 win over Elms and then assisted on EC's first score in a 3-2 comeback win over Anna Maria for a three-point week to lift Emmanuel to a 5-1 overall record for the best start in program history.
JP Rioux, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., F - Stony Point, N.Y.) - In Johnson & Wales' lone game this week, Rioux totaled two goals in a conference tilt against Regis on Friday night. Rioux two goals led the Wildcats to a GNAC victory. Rioux scored on two of his three shots, with all three shots going on net.
Jake Ouellette, Lasell (Sr., M - East Granby, Conn.) - He scored both goals for the Lasers in their mid-week 3-2 GNAC defeat to Rivier.
Joseph Thongsythavong, Norwich (Jr., F - Salem, Mass.) - Thongsythavong tallied his fourth career hat trick, scoring all three goals in a 3-0 win over Castleton on Tuesday as aprt of a 1-1 week.
Gus Ford, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Freshman, F - Falmouth, Maine) - Ford netted his first career goal in a1-1 tie with nationally-ranked #8 WPI on Tuesday.
Colin Grant, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (GR, D - Harvard, Mass.) - Grant scored the game-winning goal in a huge 1-0 conference victory at Norwich University on Saturday.
