GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Report: Week 4
Regis (Mass.) continued its school record-breaking tear of late with a trio of weekly honorees.

MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Daniel LaFlamme, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., Watertown, Conn.) At the SNHU Penmen Relays Saturday, LaFlamme broke the school record in the shot put on his first attempt, finishing in ninth place among 59 competitors with a mark of 13.39 meters (43' 11.25"), 0.09 meters further than the previous record set six years ago. He also finished in 10th place in the hammer throw with a top effort of 41.86 meters (137' 4") and in 17th place in the discus throw with a top mark of 35.00 meters (114' 10"). |

WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Fatima St. Hilaire, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., Dorchester, Mass.) St. Hilaire continued to rewrite her own school records at the SNHU Penmen Relays Saturday. She lowered the 100 meter dash school record time to 12.68 seconds, fourth-best among 96 competitors in the preliminaries. She advanced to the final, where she crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 12.70 seconds. St. Hilaire also won the long jump after posting a school record mark of 5.74 meters (18' 10") on her fifth attempt. It was 0.11 meters further than the previous school record she established last year, and it is now third-best across the country in Division III. In addition, she won her heat of the 200 meter dash in 27.56 seconds. |

MEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Nicholas Pastore, Regis (Mass.) (Fr., Norwood, Mass.) Pastore continues to perform well for Regis as he posted solid times at the SNHU Penmen Relays Saturday. In the 200 meter dash, Pastore won his heat and finished 13th overall out of 68 participants with a time of 23.55 seconds, 0.24 seconds quicker than his mark last weekend. In the 400 meter dash, he finished 18th overall out of 64 competitors in 52.88 seconds. Both times are season bests for Pastore. He also finished 23rd in the long jump with a top leap of 5.55 meters (18' 2.5") |

WOMEN'S ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Amanda Jordan, Emmanuel (Fr., Stoneham, Mass.) Jordan was able to capture a spot in New England's with a sixth place best jump of 1.55 meter in the high jump, while also accomplishing a personal record with a twenty-third place finish in the 400 hurdles with a final time of 1:17.71. |
WEEK 4 HONOR ROLL
Eric Morin, Colby-Sawyer (Sr., North Sutton, N.H.) - Morin earned four points for Colby-Sawyer with an impressive run in the 400-meter dash at Saturday's very competitive Southern New Hampshire University Penmen Relays. He won his heat and finished fifth overall out of 64 runners with a personal record time of 51.81.
Matt Cronin, Emmanuel (So., Coventry, R.I.) - Cronin accomplished a major personal record in the 5 kilometer race with a career best 17:53.98 time, over two minutes faster than his previous best.
Jacquelyn Schneider, Emmanuel (Jr., Weymouth, Mass.) - In the heptathlon, junior Jacquelyn Schneider (Weymouth, Mass.) was able to qualify for New England's with a seventh place finish with 3508 points on the day. Schneider also recorded personal records in both the hurdles and high jump.
Ashleigh Kelley, Regis (Mass.) (Fr., Stoneham, Mass.) - Kelley performed well in the 800 meter run at the SNHU Penmen Relays Saturday. She finished in 15th place overall among 60 total competitors, with just nine Division III runners ahead of her, with a time of 2:31.07. That was exactly eight seconds faster than the time she posted just one week ago at the Regis Spring Classic, only 0.65 seconds off the team's best time this season, and only 1.08 seconds off the school record.
Maytas Csiki-Fejer, Suffolk (Fr., St. Louis, Mo.) - Csiki-Fejer was one of 25 runners, the lone NCAA Division III student-athlete, in the 5000-meter race at Providence's Ocean State Invitational. The freshman from St. Louis, Missouri, finished in the middle of the pack in 12th with a time of 14:57.22, which is the third highest in New England and 40th across NCAA Division III.
Emily Manfra, Suffolk (Jr., Stoneham, Mass.) - Manfra finished the mile first in her section at Providence's Ocean State Invitational with a time of 4:57.76 good for eighth overall in the field of 23. Her performance marks the fifth-best in New England and is the ninth-best time across NCAA Division III.
Allison Rodrigues, Suffolk (Fr., North Andover, Mass.) - Rodrigues competed in three different fielding events at SNHU's Penmen Relays: shot put (10.28 M, 20th of 60), discus (29.80 M, 21st of 59) and javelin (32.88 M, 11th of 59).
