GNAC Women's Basketball Report: Week 3
Dean's Alexah Potter (29 PTS, 20 REB) and SJC's Angelica Hurley (21 PTS, 15 REB) both posted monster double-double performances en route to GNAC accolades in Week 3.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Alexah Potter, Dean (Jr, F - East Hartford, Conn.) - Potter led the Bulldogs to an 80-63 win last Monday over UMaine-Fort Kent with an impressive 29 points and 20 rebounds (five offensive). The junior went 13-of-26 from the floor and added three blocks in the victory.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Angelica Hurley, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (So, G/F - Groverland, Mass.) - Hurley turned in an incredible performance in a 62-52 win over Southern Maine on Sunday, as the sophomore swing player tallied 21 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and a pair of blocked shots in the triumph. Back on Tuesday in a big win over UMaine Farmington, she egistered three points and 11 boards in just 20 minutes of action. For the week, Hurley averaged 12.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 50% from the field and 77.8% from the FT line.

HONOR ROLL
Naheema Walker, Johnson & Wales (RI) (So., G/F - Staten Island, N.Y.) - Walker totaled 13 points, three rebounds and two assists in just 17 minutes in the Wildcats' lone game last week - a 65-57 setback against Wheaton. Walker connected on 5-of-7 shots, good for 71.4% from the field while going 3-of-5 from the FT line.
Pam Gonzalez, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., G - Revere, Mass.) - Gonzalez averaged 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds while shooting 54.2% (13-24) in a 1-1 week for the Pride. Her week began with an outrageous performance last Tuesday, leading Regis to its first victory of the season against Eastern Nazarene with a career-high 29 points (10-15 FG, 9-9 FT) to go with 14 rebounds and only two turnovers. In the fourth quarter, she scored 11 points and did not miss a shot attempt before going 6-for-6 from the FT line in overtime. In the extra stanza, she had eight points and three rebounds, including a key offensive rebound after two missed FTs that allowed the Pride to keep possession and clinch the victory. She followed up with seven points and six boards on Sunday against UNE, along with two assists, three steals, and two blocked shots.
Jordan Ouellette, St. Joseph (Conn.) (So., G/F - Bristol, Conn.) - Ouellette registered her first career double-double to power the Blue Jays to victory in their GNAC opener on Tuesday night, 67-46, over previously unbeaten Elms in USJ's lone game of the week. Ouellette poured in a career-high 16 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds, connecting on 7-of-12 of her shots from the floor on the night and was 2-of-4 from the FT lone to improve to 3-2 on the young 2021-22 season.
