GNAC Women's Soccer Report: Week 5
Regis senior Miya Nishibun collected her second consecutive GNAC weekly award after a five-goal week for the Pride.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK Miya Nishibun, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., B/M - Honolulu, Hawaii) - For the second straight week, Nishibun notched a brace and a hat trick in the same week to total five goals as the Pride won two more conference matches. She scored twice in the first half against Anna Maria Wednesday as the Pride defeated the AMCATS, 3-0. On Saturday versus Norwich, she scored the first goal of the match in the 14th minute, then picked up two goals in the span of 3:22 in the second half to complete her third hat trick of the season. Her third goal of the match was also her 13th goal of the season, breaking the Regis single season goals record of 12 first set 20 years ago and matched 10 years ago.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK Michelle Mecca, Albertus Magnus (So., GK - Greenwood Lake, N.Y.) - Mecca backed the Falcons this week, posting 29 saves to go along with a 1.81 GAA and a .879 save percentage. She opened the action with a career-high 18-save outing against JWU in a 2-1 loss and came right back with an 11 save-performance in a thrilling 3-2 double-overtime win against Emmanuel (Mass.).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Priscilla Martinelli, Lasell (Fr., F - Plymouth, Mass.) - Scored two goals and added one assist in a 2-0 week for Lasell. She scored one goal and assisted on another in the 9-0 GNAC midweek victory over Rivier. In the weekend GNAC match against Saint Joseph?s College she scored the game winning goal in double overtime.

HONOR ROLL
Haley Andrews, Albertus Magnus (Sr., M/F - Prospect, Conn.) - Andrews enjoyed a six-point week for the Falcons, scoring three goals, including a double-overtime game-winner against Emmanuel (Mass.) last Saturday. The senior scored in both games for Albertus and netted a season-high four points behind a pair of goals in the Falcons' home win over the Saints. In the 2-1 loss to JWU, Andrews scored the Falcons lone goal at the 71st minute.
Haley Gaunt, Dean (Fy., GK - Johnston, R.I.) - Gaunt guided the Bulldogs to a 2-0 week with great play in net. She began the week with her third shutout of the season in a 1-0 road win at Simmons. She made four saves in the victory. Gaunt then helped the team to a 2-1 win against Colby-Sawyer by making six saves to preserve the win. For the week, Gaunt had a .909 save % and a .50 goals against average.
Jasmine Sztyler-Magee, Dean (Jr., F - Burlington, Conn.) - Sztyler-Magee registered two game-winning goals in a 2-0 week for the Bulldogs. She began the week by scoring the game's lone goal in an important 1-0 road win at Simmons. The junior striker then notched the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Colby-Sawyer.
Jordan Restivo, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Jr., F - Utica, N.Y.) - Restivo played a role in two Wildcat victories this week. Against Albertus Magnus, she had seven shots and put four on net. Against Rivier, she had two goals and an assist, contributing to all three Wildcat goals. Her three goal involvements led the Wildcats to a 3-0 victory.
Kyli Swann, Lasell (So., G - Queen Creek, Ariz.) - Had a 2-0 week in net with one shut out and six total saves. She started and got the win for the Lasers in their 9-0 GNAC victory over Rivier. She made six saves and got the shutout in Lasers 1-0 double overtime win over Saint Joseph's of Maine.
Maria Toumbouras, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., F - Walpole, Mass.) - Toumbouras assisted on the first goal of each match over the past week, which would turn out to be the game-winning goal in both instances. In the 14th minute Wednesday, she pressed the play into the offensive zone and sent a crossing pass into the box that found Nishibun for the Pride's opening goal at Anna Maria. About the same time in Saturday's contest, she created the play that resulted in Nishibun's first goal of the afternoon as Regis went on to defeat Norwich. Toumbouras leads the team with three assists this season.
Victoria Schaffner, St. Joseph (Conn.) (So., GK - Waterbury, Conn.) The sophomore posted a four-save shutout against GNAC pwoer Saint Joseph's of Maine back on September 29.
Adia Grogan, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Senior, GK - Kennebunk, Maine) - Grogan posted a 0.92 goals against average with a .889 save percentage in a pair of 1-0 GNAC losses last week. She was phenomenal in 1-0 setback versus Lasell on Saturday with eight saves before allowing the game's lone tally in the 106th minute.
