MEN'S ATHLETE / ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Ben Stark, Norwich (So., Montverde, Fla.) - Stark won the 1,000-freestyle (10:41.16) and 100-butterfly (54.96). He also was a part of the winning 200-medley and 200-freestyle relay teams for the Cadets. He helped the Cadets to a dominate 219-47 dual meet victory over USJ. |

WOMEN'S ATHLETE / ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Rebecca Klements, Norwich (Fr., Dunbarton, N.H.) - Klements won three events in the 100-butterfly (1:07.64), 100-freestyle (1:00.43) and 50-butterfly (29.90). She also helped anchored the 200-freestyle relay team to a winning time of 1:56.84. Klements led Norwich to a 166-119 victory over USJ and helped the Cadets to their first 2-0 start to the season in nearly two decades. |
GNAC WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Katie Durrua, UNE (So., Point Pleasant Beach, N.J) - Meet vs. Saint Joseph's (Maine). Captured the 100 butterfly (1:05.38) and the 500 freestyle (5:49.20). Also, swam the back half of the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay wins.
Haley Griffin, UNE (Sr., Ava, N.Y.) - Meet vs. Saint Joseph's (Maine). Touched the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.75) and the 50 butterfly (30.39). The 50 fly was the tightest finish of the night, as a UNE teammate was just 0.03 seconds behind. Also, led off a 200 medley relay win.
Shelby Cios, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., Rocky Hill, Conn.) - Cios touched the wall first in two of her three individual events and also helped power USJ's 200-Yard Medley Relay team to victory this past Friday night in a dual meet versus fellow GNAC opponent Norwich University inside Bruyette Natatorium. The senior registered first-place swims in the 50-Yard Breaststroke and 100-Yard Breaststroke with times of 35.62 and 1:19.58, respectively, to best the field. Cios swam as the second swimmer (breaststroke) of USJ's 200-Yard Medlay Relay team with a split time of 34.80 to help build a lead the Blue Jays would maintain to finish in first with a final combined time of 2:06.31. She also picked up a runner-up finish in the 100-Yard IM with a final time of 1:11.80 in her other individual event of the evening.
Jacob Wyse, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Sr., Broad Brook, Conn.) - Wyse won the 100-Yard Backstroke and finished runner-up in the 200-Yard Freestyle in his two individual events this past Friday night in a dual meet versus fellow GNAC opponent Norwich University inside Bruyette Natatorium. Wyse touched the wall in 59.45 in the 100-Yard Backstroke to best the field and clocked in a time of 1:55.62 for a second-place finish in the 200-Yard Freestyle.
