GNAC Men's Volleyball Report: Week 8
Wentworth's Jacob LaBouliere averaged 5.73 kills per set on a stellar .495 hitting percentage in a 2-1 week as the Leopards traveled to the west coast.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Jacob LaBouliere, Wentworth (So., OH - Pipersville, Pa.) - LaBouliere averaged 5.73 kills per set on a stellar .495 hitting percentage in a 2-1 week as the Leopards traveled to the west coast. He had 11 kills on 14 sttempts in a sweep of Baldwin Wallace before registering 19 kills in a sweep at Cal Lutheran. He ginished the week with 33 kills in a five-set setback at UC Santa Cruz.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Kostea Andreenko, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., M - Marstons Mills, Mass.) - Andreenko averaged 0.86 digs and 1.14 blocks per set for the Pride. On Wednesday against Nichols, he finished with five total blocks along with six kills and two digs. Friday against SUNY Potsdam, he finished with a career-high nine total blocks, seven of them coming in the fourth set to help the Pride rally from deficits of 11-2 and 21-16 to win the set and force the match to a deciding fifth set. He also earned a career-high seven digs and hit .556 (11-1-18) in the match. After going 3-for-3 on attacks along with a service ace and two digs in the first set against Dean, Andreenko hit .692 (11-2-13) with two block assists against Colby-Sawyer. Andreenko is now second in the GNAC in blocks per set at 0.97.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Jordan Shinaut, Lasell (Freshman, Opposite - Peoria, Ariz.) - Shinaut took home his fourth straight GNAC Rookie of the Week award after posting 4.00 kills per set in a 3-1 setback to MIT on Friday.

HONOR ROLL
Orlando Plagata, Colby-Sawyer (Sr, OH - Los Angeles, Calif.) - Plagata continues his success this year racking up 35 more kills over a three-match week. Plagata started the week with a 14-kill performance against Northern Vermont - Johnson, hitting .257% while also notching three service aces and 13 digs. Plagata followed it up with nine kills against Regis College, before 12 more kills in the second game versus Dean College to lift the Chargers to their first GNAC win in program history.
Jesus Garcia, Lasell (Junior, Setter - Honolulu, Hawaii) - Garcia posted five kills, 29 assists and eight difs in a 3-1 loss to MIT on Friday.
Matt Ferrara, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., OH - Sandown, N.H.) - Ferrara led the Pride offensively over the past week, starting with a 12-kill performance against Nichols Wednesday along with six digs. Friday against SUNY Potsdam, he collected 13 kills, two service aces, five digs, and four block assists as the Pride extended the match to five sets. Saturday, he played the first set against Dean and finished with four kills, three service aces, three digs, and a solo block. He followed that up with 13 kills, three service aces, six digs, and two total blocks in the team's victory over Colby-Sawyer. Ferrara is now fifth in the GNAC in total kills with 160 so far this season.
