GNAC Men's Volleyball Report: Week 9
Lasell's Jordan Shinaut had 18 kills (4.50 per set) at GNAC rival Rivier on Saturday to capture his fifth straight GNAC Rookie of the Week award.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK David Smith, Rivier (Gr., OH - Clinton, Ohio) - The Raiders' outside hitter averaged 4.80 kills, 0.80 service aces, 2.10 digs and 0.40 blocks per set while hitting an impressive .470 in a 3-0 week, which included a 3-1 victory over nationally-ranked Lasell as Riv extended its winning streak to 10. On Thursday at Elms, Smith had 19 kills and one error on 24 attempts (.750) in a sweep, before registering 15 kills, seven digs and a pair of blocks against the Lasers on Saturday. He closed out the home tri-match with 14 kills and just two errors on 23 attempts (.470) in a 3-0 win over Emmanuel.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Phoenix Stebbins, Wentworth (Sr., L - Harrisburg, Pa.) - Stebbins had 13 digs (4.33 per set) in a 3-0 sweep at home over Elms on Saturday afternoon.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Jordan Shinaut, Lasell (Freshman, Opposite - Peoria, Ariz.) - Shinaut had 18 kills (4.50 per set) on 32 attempts with just five errors (.406) to go with eight digs and three blocks in a four-set loss at GNAC rival Rivier on Saturday. |
